Best 9mm handgun

The one I bought is clearly the best one, because I have to self-justify that I didn't spend my money on the wrong one.

the wooden grips on the elite SS are clumsy and it is slightly over priced compared to any other elite. All very nice.

If going Sig I'd wait till the extreme line comes out and is reviewed.

Another vote for the CZ Shadow from me. Personally, I just find the grips really fit me well--it just feels right.

I had a Beretta 92fs but sold it because I never really liked the feel of it. These types of threads always basically come down to "try before you buy" though since there are lots of great choices, and it is really just a matter of finding one that feels right for your individual hand shape and size.

Gen 3 G17 is the most issued service pistol on the planet and is in heavy use by most of the tier 1 spec ops units.
USP 9 is the next most issued, and may eventually be replaced with the P30. HK builds very solid pistols with questionable triggers IMO.
SIG P226 is a great pistol but their commercial stuff has suffered since production moved to the US and old QC standards were abandoned. Still in use with a lot of heavy outfits.

I would take anything off this list, particularly if I could restrict the 226 to West German models (which is exactly what I have done here at home, where my wife keeps a German 226.)

Third most issued pistol is the CZ75...issued almost exclusively in third world countries, though.

not to jack the thread, but what is a good 9mm option if one wanted a DA/SA semi auto with a rail (to possibly add a light and or laser dot sight) and also had the ability to convert to a .22 with a kit (i want to be able to change from 9mm to .22 here and there)?
Thanks in advance
