Has anyone seen anything like this in Canada?

Unfortunately Rock Solid Industries only ships inside the US so I cannot order it straight from them. I am trying to take an Old Mosin Nagant and put a scope on it as a neat project. It also comes with the Bend bolt handle so that the it dose not reach the scope.

I have been reading online and I have seen things that are saying that the only scope mount worth getting for the Mosin Nagant is this Rock Solid scope mount.

Here is a link to a page with some pictures of what some crafty people have done to there Classic Mosin Nagant rifles.

Any Suggestions on where I could get one in Canada would be great I am really excited to get started on this project.

Looks like a good mount but if you cannot get the RockSolid than maybe I can offer an alternative. I just came back from my gunsmith and he commented more than once on the quality of the Accumount scope mount that will be going on my Mosin. Basically a repro unit with the rings spaced further apart so that you can mount a modern scope...it also has 1" rings. I just bought it on e-bay.ca and it was shipped to my door for 160 bucks or so and it arrived within a week. It did come the the U.S so remember to use standard ground shipping or you will get dinged for brokerage fees and remember to buy the hunting version not a full on repro unit.

accumount 160
bolt 25
Drill and tapX6 >100

Add tax, shipping etc and you are looking at a BNIB savage/stevens 200 with rings in any almost any cal...........

David I dont want a rifle like that I already own a Sako 85 With beautiful wood and a blued barrel in 30-06 Exactly like this one but with better wood.

I want to do this simply as a fun project to make my own gun. I already have a stock i want to get, bolt, rings, mount, scope, and everything else im going to do on my own besides Parkerizing the barrel.

Sorry David I am just reading over what I said in my post yesterday, It sounded very mean I did not try to be mean in any way it just came out that way, I really just dont need another rifle like that and I want to try to make a custom one for myself that I can Have and say, "Thats My Rifle".

i took the rear receiver off of mine which exposed the 3/8 dovetail, i took it to the range and after 2 shots the rings would slide forward and off the mount. So in a few days I will make my way to lordco for some jb weld and see what happens, i will keep you guys posted as to how i make out at the range after that. I WILL RETURNNNNN

brass stacker. I just got one, haven't mounted it yet but it looks well built. The only downside is the height and it's a scout scope.

I know this is a older post , but I bought a rocksoild mount and had it shipped to Canada.
I had it shipped for 100 $ fee to Leroy's Big Valley guns in Montana.
He in turn shipped it to Clay at Prophet River Firearms ( banner above) who shipped it to me.
If I had to do this again I would just start with Clay @ Prophet River.
I also had them send me a bent bolt and some pillar bedding c/w screws.
It was all very , very easy to do.

Hope this helps anyone trying to import parts from south of the boarder.

Thanks Slowpoke Ill get on that and are you happy with the quality from RockSolid?

Also this isant a very old post I am still trying to get one of these :p

Yes the rockSolid mount is very good quality. He has a wealth of information that he passed on to me.There was a rockSoild mount for sale on the EE a while back.
It is difficult if not impossible to load your mosin with striper clips once you have the scope mounted.
I use mine as a single shot now.

Slowpoke did you say you had to pay an Extra $100 on the shipping?

I just sent 100$ US to Leroy's Big Valley Guns in Montana. I had RockSolid ship to him. I am not sure what the cost was for that, but I think it was around 40$.
I am not sure Clay or Leroy made a lot of money on me?
I spoke to Leroy after he had received the parcel from RockSolid and he was having some difficulties due to a rule change or something.
I think Clay picked the mount up in Montana and then shipped it to me.
So now they probably have a better idea of what the true costs are.

Just for future information , what is the total he wants to deliver the mount?

I just had an Accumouts mailed to me from down in the U.S. and it cost me 20 bucks to have it shipped directly to me. You have to make sure that the shipper uses standard ground otherwise UPS or whomever will charge you a brokerage fee.

If the Soviet army feels that the PU side mount is good enough for them than its good enough for me.

I was also looking at Accumounts, They look like a good mount. But I went with rockSolid. It sounds like you did not have to pay any extortion to have it imported to Canada. 100 $ extra just to import the dam mount is a bit much.
