Hey guys I'm looking to get a .308 to shoot out to 1000 yrds that is 1/2 MOA capable. Two rifles that really seem to interest me are the PGW Coyote and the HS Precision HTR.

I've got to check out the HS in person and was very impressed with the quality and the trigger was by far the best factory trigger I've ever tried.

The Coyote I imagine would be just as nice if not better in the quality department and I prefer to support a Canadian company. Unfortunately I've never seen one in person and there is limited information and reviews on them.

So if anyone with experience with both rifles or one, especially the Coyote could comment that would be appreciated.

Thanks for any input.

Well in all honesty I you can afford to go with the coyote it's arguably the best 308 out of the box ever made. Although the hs precision is also a amazing rifle I have got to handle both but I have only shot the hs precision. So I can only comment on it accuracy wise and it is amazing I am a decent shot but by no means a pro and was shooting 1/2 to 3/4 moa very easily and watched a better shooter shoot 1" at 400 yards(max at that range) I also know a few people that use them for 1000 yard shoots. So I would say in my opinion the hs precision is the way to go once comparing price

Coyote or HS

the Coyote is no better or worse than the HS,depends if you are shooting compeditively, if your compeditive you need a better gun than .5 moa to win, I have an HS ( which is for sale) its a solid .5 moa and with a little load tweeking it may do better, and for sure the triggers got to go, the Jewel 2oz would for sure make groups tighten up

if your planning to shoot only FTR, your limited to 308 or 223, if you want to shoot open class or just with your buddies, pick a 6mmBR or 6 Dasher and win every time out

I really need to get my shill account going for this sort of thing...Nothing like a bad joke at a bad time...relax everybody ;-)

We can offer a 2 week max delivery on a Coyote in A5 configuration finished in green camo (stock) and OD green metal work...

Thanks guys I was leaning towards the Coyote. I just saw an awesome deal on a brand new HS HTR for $3100 and was temped to grab it but I think I'm going to hold out and get a Coyote.

:D

If I had the cash I would get the coyote, there would be nothing cooler than owning a canadian made gun that's used by our forces. Some day when I am rich and famous I will get one... Some day :(

I have had the chance to shoot over ten of the PGW rifles and must say that every one of them is top notch. If I can every save up enough I will be buying one too. Would recommend a jewell trigger if you are not planning on swimming in the swamps with yours;) They are wickedly nice and sub 1/2moa (way less with a good driver/load) Mine would have the folding chassis.

Coyote+1

The Coyote is an excellent rifle (I've owned one) and is easily the equal or better than any factory offering. The advantage of a custom is that you can choose exactly what you want - PGW may also offer this service but it will increase wait times.

I think you're lost.

As for the thread, PGW for sure, waaaay better resale value than HS too if it ever bores you. When there's a Made in Canada option that's awesome, why look anywhere else? :)

You got it man, custom are very hard to get rid off, unless you wouldn't mind getting rape! Even at lower price, people tent to stay away from. I get the real thing and stay away from clone!
