Dlask 12.5 VS 16.5 Bull Barrel Test

good morning folks, Just getting ready to head out for my test.

Will report back this afternoon when my test is complete. I know I said I would use my Vortex PST for this test but its to big to mount... lol... So I had to use my cheap Bushnell ... I will test out at 50y and 100y and will do a final Zero on the winning barrel with my SPARC @ 50Y

Do you know how hard I looked at those targets to see the shots! Man its too early to be reading things. Good luck, anxiously awaiting the results. Also, is that just a thread protector on your 12.5 or a comp? I am wanting to put a 12.5 on as well, but am afraid it will be too short with my forend, which I don't want to change.
 
Not sure how well the Blazers will work, both of my Dlask barrels did not like them at all.

Let's see which is the better ... I am using a 16.5 at the moment from Dlask
 
Well back from the range... Having lunch and installing my 16.5 Dlask Barrel....

50Y groups were very nice .... especially The Winchester Target... 100Y groups were all over the place...
 
Well that was fun... Im Keeping the 16.5

Here are the targets... My best grouping @ 50Y was with my 16.5 Using Winchester Target and my best 100Y was with my 16.5 with the 333

That was allot of fun... I'm glad I have the SPARC back on now... The wind picked up allot in my 2nd test... ( but im still a horrible shot ) So it didn't help my last 100Y group...

I too would be interested if the 16.5" has a match chamber... I have some blazers I'd like to try in my brand new dlask, that I should be trying out in about an hour :)
 
And blazers worked fine? I've been hearing so many warnings about ANY CCI ammo in these barrels with bentz chambers. Anyone know why?

And nice groups man! will tighten up with practice :)
 
To the best of my knowledge Dlask actually does not recommend any CCI ammo. I have heard alot of people have success with it in the Bentz chamber though. I think one of the downfalls I have heard of is that you cannot extract an unfired round without digging it out with a small screw driver.

Ruger themselves says do not use stingers in any of their target models as they are a bit longer than a regular LR. From what I have heard flask barrels don't like blazers at all. That's one of the main things holding me back from getting one.
 
well after today I think I will stick with the 333 and Winchester target....

The Blazer pack runs great in my GSG 1911
 
I've been running the same Win HV stuff and Fedral target loads out of my dlask 16.5. The Fedral stuff groups better then the Win HV, But the Win is a little cheaper.
 
Well I I'd take my dlask out today! Beautiful thing it was....

I decided to try a mag of blazers.... Bad idea..... The first round (unfired) DID infact get jammed in the barrel.... Rather than dig it out I thought I'd fire it.... That's where the trouble cam in. Though it was FULLY seated in the chamber, it fired out the the ejection port, LOUD as heck! Scared me and the guy beside me. I said screw it! And emptied the mag back into the box. No more CCI anything in my dlask!

i don't know if it's all CCI but stingers and blazers for sure. i think cci SV is fine. i picked up a case of it the other to try it out compared to the blaser and it was by far more accurate for a hair more money. looks like the blazer will be kept for my gsg and henry lever action or just plinking and the SV if i want to shoot for accuracy
 
If you want to shoot Blazers in your Dlask barrel order it with Dlask's sporting chamber. Others have mentioned their rifles shoot great with Blazers and a Dlask sporting chamber
 
Well I had a few failingly to extract... These chambers are tight....

So I just ordered a new power extractor... Hope this will help
