What is the purpose of this poll? You should address this question to the match director who accepted your match fee.

...We used to have that problem in Eastern Ontario (10 years ago)

I got sick of waiting for results...so I started volunteering to do stats. Problem solved

Actions speak louder than words

...just sayin ;)

...I sould point out that most clubs in our area are very good at getting results out (a few days max) I know the clubs that are generally short on help...and I let them know I'm there to do stats if required. No clubs will ever say no to the extra help.

That RO or guy on the tear down crew may step up to do stats...it you step up and back fill for them.

MSS Is an easy download from the IPSC website, download it, and the next time you shoot a match at one of those clubs you can offer to do their stats for them.

On a side note I notice that most of the folks who wonder why it takes so long to produce results for an "easy" match can't find the time to spare to help out....This is not specifically aimed at the OP but to the multitude of threads we see about this issue

Just wonder if I'm willing to help, the match takes 2 days,
and I'm already back home 2 hours away.
Are they willing to electronically send me the results so I can help them score?
I have no problem using the software, the thing is will they let a person to score for them when they didn't know him well enough?
And in fact, I'd also helped out while at the match.

Pat, I should point out that those folks are actually paid the match fee. And match is NOT completed until scores are posted. It seem like some of the match directors are missing that.

So, all in all it is still a bad match planning on MD side.

Geez you think if they offered to help that the MD might waive their match fee?
Since when did we start running matches like a business? This is a volunteer sport, of you want things to be better, volunteer!

You don't have any clubs close to you? Every match is two hours away for you?
They would have to courier the score sheets to you to be totaled, verified and then entered (figure 80 shooters x 4 stages = 320 score sheets)

PractiScore
Will be in use at all Wayne county racoon hunters matches starting this month. A few clubs have been running palm based systems for the last couple of years, really speeds up the scores, they get uploaded to uspsa within a few hours of the last shooter. Coon hunters will be the first to use the tablet system.
I'm suprised none of the ontario clubs have adopted electorinc scoring for matches. The price is reasonable and the time savings are rather large

Those clubs which are closer to me had already done their job right. The latest takes them only 1 max 2 days to release the results.
I am referring the clubs further away, taking almost a week, and charging more than the others:mad: Do I still have to drive back there, getting their score sheets, bring it home, input them(which I don't mind to do) and courier back to them:confused:

I'm asking a question nicely and why are u giving me a hard time for?

If you aren't happy how a club runs their match, especially if it's two hours away and they charge more, don't go back.
Why would you courier anything back to the club? Once you score it you submit it to ipsc ontario. You've never had anything to do with scoring before have you? Help score at one of your local clubs and see what's involved and then decide if it's something you want to do.

I am one of the person who did the scoring at my own club. I know what it is involved. I also understand how every shooters feel in terms of seeing the results. They[Including myself] want to see it ASAP. I will post the results next day the latest sometimes the same night not matter how tired or busy I am. Shooters done their parts, and I'll just have to complete the match process.

You sounds like I'm the one to blame afterall....

Putting a poll up and asking people to dis a club because the scoring takes too long is NOT asking anything nicely. At the end of a match, stay for cleanup, then ask nicely if there's anything you can do to help processing scores. If you're nice enough, the stats person may give you a sneak peek at the results - you can then drive home happy with your insider info.

It seems every spoiled brat with an iphone wants instant gratification.

You cannot say that unless I point and name the specific club. There are different clubs in the poll and is up to the members to express....

If it all volunteer, why do they charge the match fees? I am perfectly fine paying the fees, but for that fee I am expecting to see the results in a reasonable time.

I believe with $20..25 match fee and 50+ competitors MD could hire a computer-savvy kid for $20..50 to enter the results for him or like Madness said, use PractiScore (though currently there are issues with using PS for IPSC matches).

Nope, I'm just thinking about waving th BS flag. You say you've scored but then you've made comments like:
.Are they willing to electronically send me the results so I can help them score?
And:
.getting their score sheets, bring it home, input them(which I don't mind to do) and courier back to them
If you had scored a match before why would you ask about having scores sent to you electronically when you would know that this means they've already been entered into MSS and just have to be submitted to IPSC Ontario and why would you courier anything back to them? If you have scored a match before then you would know the process and these questions would make no sense.
You're not the one to blame for those scores not being done but you started a thread to :nest: about certain clubs. If you don't like those clubs and the way they run their matches don't go there or at least stand up and say which ones you aren't happy with instead of hiding behind a poll.
