Taxes and shipping in these pistols will arrive at your door for just over $450.

My intitial impression isn't very good but I might be able to work with this.
The pistol is very rough - rougher than I expected..
I had hoped that Norinco would have made advances forward in this dept.
I was very happy with my Norinco N-22.
This is a different story.

The rear sight is loose.
Trigger is a gritty 6.5 to 7 lbs
What you see below is how these pistols will arrive straight out of the box.

I'm hoping that 500 rounds or so should help to smooth things out.
I have a lot of de-horning to do as well
or perhaps another $160 for an Armco tune job might be in the works.

Have a look

Short video clip after I've done a bit of slicking. Please be kind. I did this when I was pretty sick with flu and made a few rookie mistakes. Brain and hands weren't talking to one another....

For the money it looks okay to me.

First thing I'd ditch is the extended slide stop & the grips. Ad in an adjustable aluminum trigger & it would be set up the way I like 'em.

After that I'd just run a few hundred reloads thru it to smooth it out.

I have a previous series Norc 1911A1 compact, with my set up:

It runs like a champ.

Looks rough, even by Norc standards. They had been steadily improving fit and finish, too. The sights look like a vast improvement over the previous ones, though.

2nd picture that mark/scratch under the slide serrations. What the hell is that!? I have noticed that on a lot of norcs mine has it too but worse. Are they getting scratched on something when they are pumped out of the shop? I do not have the comander but I am really impressed with mine.

I own a SAM.. I have held and fondled many Norcs. There was no comparison in the finish between the two.

As to how they shoot.. I can only comment on the SAM.. It shoots better then I do, so if the Norc shoots close or as well then its still the same answer. Spend the extra $50 and get a better finished gun.

P.S. I do own an M93 but it doesn't really count as I only paid like $150 for it. I do like it though.

Personally I would spend the extra $50 on a SAM. There is no comparison.

I've never owned a SAM, full size or compact. However, they do look like a good deal for the money, too.

If you own or have owned one, give us a review..... ;)

Edit..... never mind, we were posting at the same time.... reference the post above this one. :)

As always with Norc 1911's my first advice is to totally strip the pistol (absolutely bare frame) and clean it - it's amazing how much sand is in these guns out of the bag. I had measureable amounts of sand in the magazine release. Alternatively, an Armco tune will make it unrecognizable. Oh yes, and a very light polish with Flitz will take whatever that junk is on the finish off and leave a nice blued finish.

Do aftermarket parts fit into these? Gunsmithing required?

After market parts fit just fine. Try Fusion Firearms, great products and really easy to deal with. My Norc Commander is full of fusion parts and everything dropped right in, the adjustable trigger i put in was a HUGE improvment! Then all thats left is to kill as much paper as you can ;) :ar15:

um looks ok on the outside.
but the rails and other inards look like crap ...
if i saw a gun in that condition ,i dont think id even take a chance firing it.
probably the worst milling job i have ever seen ...
I mean really guys , it honestly looks like its chisseled outta stone...
i haven had the chance to exanine the internals on one first hand .
