I read the stickied thread on these rifles and am extremely interested in purchasing one, however; I have no information on how to find one (yep I know they are discontinued) or what to offer once I have one in my sights

Some help please?

What's the difference between the 180b and 180b2?

That depends on when it was manufactured. If it was made before the US' Assault Weapons Ban had expired in 2004, the AR180B has the same features as the post AWB sunset AR180B-2 model. If it was manufactured after the AWB sunset, any marked AR180B have an 18 inch threaded barrel with screw on flash hider, while the AR180B-2 had a 20 inch barrel with an integral muzzle break.

I'm guessing mine would have been made during the AWB, as it fits the description of the AR180B-2 model, but is only stamped AR180B.

I would not let go of mine for $1200-1300. Would be needing alot more then that. Right now anyway.

IF the AR-15's go non-restricted I think many of the other formerly non-restriced black rifles will come down in price. Why pay $2500-$3000+ for one of those when you can get a made in Canada AR-15 NEA for $1200??

We could only hope really! I still would not get rid of my AR-180B though, another rifle example in the collection.

@ Everyone : Thanks, I would think that being a non restricted ar looking rifle it might be worth it to pay 2100 instead of 1200 to some, not me for sure but some. I will go back to waiting on the EE. :)

@ fnrob : Pardon me in advance if I am uninformed or misinformed but I'm pretty sure I saw that the AR 180b and all variants are listed as restricted however; the AR 180b-2 is considered a different rifle and not a variant (for reasons I cannot begin to grasp, I google searched) thoughts on this or maybe the reasons why? Does that mean that you possess a restricted rifle or a non restricted?

You'd get an XCR ??? :D

Haha, see what I get from trying to be nice? ;) I said "probably"... truth be told, I already have a Tavor and FS2000 (both NR). The SL8 is too close to an ACR (and certainly more in price) by the time you add the upgrade options... And truth be told I'm still waiting for an actual endorsement for that viscous blue substance...

What else would he do with the profits he made from selling all that Loctite.

If I only had a nickel for every tube... ;)

There is a little thing called supply and demand. If there's more demand then supply, guess what! Prices go up

There is another thing called common sense.....

The guns were worth less than a grand new. Then people realised they were one of the very few non-res "black" rifles available at the time, prices jumped to $1200 or so.

Now there are many non-res "black" rifles, so in a market where the niche is more filled than ever you are telling me the demand for AR-180's is higher?
