We need a M-14 clinic in Saskatchewan!

Toon Town is pretty hard to argue with. When you've got a guy willing to drive in from Manitoba, your location is solid.

Of course, anyone with good sense would drive in from Manitoba...and stay. Joke all you want about Saskatchewan, but Manitoba is truly "The Land Where No Man Can Leap To His Death".:D

i hate to say it, but you're going to have to provide barney with more incentive- like maybe a CHORUS LINE OF DANCING GOPHERS

I would be in on this in a heartbeat, no matter where in Saskatchewan. Though I believe if we asked nicely, maybe the SWF range here in Toon Town may let us use the facilities.

If anyone is on the fence about coming out to this, don't hesitate! Put in a brief reply to encourage Barney to come out West. No matter your level of experience or knowledge, Barney has something to teach everyone, and does it in a completely relaxed and enjoyable manner. I attended a couple of shooting clinics he taught at CFB Borden in Ontario back in 2010 and I had a blast, as well as learning tons about shooting and field maintenance.

Please please Barney, come on out!

Agreed! Almost anywhere in Saskatchewan beats the heck out of a drive to Calgary or Fort Mac this summer!

Ummm? The SPRA has a 1600m range (in 100yd increments with firing points) with concrete butts, target frames and a club house with power at Nokomis. The facility is covered with insurance and the neighbours know what the noise is all about. If you really ask nicely, they might even find paid markers.

Now why didn't I think of that?! Unequivocally the best idea I've heard yet! It's a fantastic facility, relatively central, great history and support..... Barney, you must feel indisputibly compelled by now, no? Now? ..........How 'bout now?

:ang3

I live about 20 mins from Nokomis...so...I approve of that idea!

Winnipeggers and Edmontonians are well served by taking the Yellowhead Hwy. Nokomis is almost in Saskatoon's backyard (relatively speaking for Prairie distances). Reginans have to take a different highway out of town to the north. The good folks in Chaplin and Moose Jaw will have to cross the Last Mountain Lake watershed in Craven.

Just a word to the wise. One trip, I had to stop on the highway to avoid a dog house (!) in the middle of the road. How a dog house got in the driving lane is anyone's guess. The $hit you see sometimes.

Just finished day one of Hungry's clinic (and I don't even own an M14) and had a blast. Learned a ton and hope an M14 will be in my future. Can't wait for the shoot tomorrow.
