Surplus Body Armour SMALL $69.95 or 3/$199.95

just ordered the package of 3 which im going to split with a buddy.

We're thinking itd be interesting to put 3 rounds of .40 on the 3rd vest to see how it holds up. My guess is it will do what its supposed to, despite the expiry etc

I'd wear the vest if someone gave me like $75k

Vest arrived, I lucked out, black, Safariland.

As described it's a size small, but fits me as I would expect a vest would fit, velcro on the sides and shoulders to tighen it up, just like the movies.

My chest measures 40" and my waist 33" (feel like I'm applying for a modeling job here).

The insert is the maleable kevlar stuff, so it fits comfy. There is no trauma plate in the chest pocket.

Rated a .357 Mag 158 gr and 9mm 124 gr

It's definitely used, and the sweat stains are a little gross, but, yeah, it's used, what do you expect, and you can remove the armour and wash it.

Overall, VERY happy with my purchase, for what I paid, absolutely a fun thing to have, I wont be offering to take a bullet, unless that $75k offer goes around...

Hope that helps.

is it supposed to come with front and rear plates? (as mentioned in the OP)

I think Ryan misspoke, or I am. There is front and rear armour (the bullet proof/resistant part), it's removable, so you can wash the vest/carrier.

If it were there, the plate would only go on the front, there's not a pocket for armour on the back.

I'm waiting on two. If I read your post right, there are no trauma plates? The reason I ordered these was to pull the plates and get rid of the vests. I'm keeping my fingers crossed they have plates.

It comes with the carrier (the cloth part) and the front and rear Kevlar armour/plates which are Lvl 2/2A. There are no ceramic trauma plates. Ceramic trauma plates are level III or more. Remember they are old expired vests, do not even think of using them. They are for novelty purposes only.

The Lvl II armour can be removed from the carrier

When I originally listed this I got a bunch of emails asking to change the wording from armour to plates. I've now changed it and broken it down further.

Again, cloth carrier and front and rear soft armour...I never said trauma plate, just plate. No ceramic plates.

If anyone thought there were Lvl III trauma plates and wants to cancel just email us.

If I wear two at the same time will i be invincible?

I'm eagerly awaiting my purchase, thanks SFRC I'm checking my mailbox every day now.

This is probably a "call-and-ask" question, but I'll ask it here because I've only got a few seconds.

My order is still listed as "pending" but has an ETA for today May 3rd. Should I be expecting the UPS man with presents?

Just got my 2 vests by mail today. Thanks Ryan for the fast shipping. To give an idea im 5'8'' and 200 lbs and it fits me well. They are in very good shape. I will post some pics tonight.

Nice, that's great news! Should fit me as well then.

Looking forward to pics.

I'm wondering this also!

A few posts back I posted that our numbers were off. More vests are on the way and will ship once they get here...next week.

I doubt you'de get a chance to spend it! Kevlar does deteriorate, thats why they have an expiery. It also depends on how and in what conditions they were stored. I'm not a gambling man but I'de say your 3 rds or .40 will go through. Post some pics if you decide to shoot it. I'm interested to see what happenes.

So we have determined that in BC it is legal to possess body armor with a PAL/RPAL. However, is it legal at any time to wear the body armor? Such as to and from the shooting range?

You guys worry way too much. If it was a serious concern, if it was a prohibited device, or you could be charged with a specific offence for owning it, you would know because there would be substantial resources discussing it. There would be #####y people like me asking for it, trying to legalize it, wondering "why not damnit!?"

Thats not happening.

You visit some of your clubs and bars in lower mainland BC. Those guys working the door? They're civvies just like you and me and I guarantee that some of them will be rocking more than just level II vests on the job where they're working with cops on a nightly basis.
