First and foremost, I wanted to extend a heartfelt thank-you and appreciation to everyone that followed the recent thread(s) and took the time to lend me their support (either publicly or privately). Questar has agreed to provide a full refund to resolve the issue, and the barrel in question is already in transit back to their office. Because the thread is now locked, and with the number of requests I received for an update on the resolution - I'm posting this here to bring about some closure (I tried posting this update in Questar's forum but I lack access privileges for some reason...) So again, thank-you all again for your unwavering encouragement and support. :D

Glad to hear it worked out for you, unfortunatly not the way it should have though...
I would say this is too little too late in my books.
Way too many customer service issues for me to ever consider making purchases through them, especially with the great service i have had from so many other vendors here...

So what you are saying if one is not happy with questar's service/products, one needs to create a poostorm in order to get their money back.......

Good on them for doing what they should have done in the first place before all the treads started.

Good to know one issue addressed. Poor service digs deep. Bottom line is many of us will look elsewhere, and no locked threads will stop that. (A declaration of customer service will. A manifesto of good service. They like long terms of service to quote. Get writing!)

Here, here. Glad you got your money back. Thank you for going through this so others don't have to; you're the Jesus of CGN.

What made them ultimately agree to provide you with some support? The public shunning? The fear of them being outcast by the CGN community?

I saw your barrel and it looked like it spent a year in a muddy trench! Unacceptable in the first place for a ''new'' product. Doubly unacceptable for them to refuse to stand behind their product.

Glad you made it happen! Good show man.

Glad to hear you are getting your coin back but it will be a cold day in hell before I ever send one red cent their way following this fiasco.
As a matter of fact I just got off the phone with my buddy who I was going to do a Que..... who order with and told him if he wants to shop there he can do it himself.
We are going to Buffalo gun to buy our Magpul BUIS and I will order a custom lower from Motiuk mfg for my 7.62 build and any other parts I need from other site sponsers.

Did Mark with Questar sell the business to Scott, or what's the deal there?

I actually enjoyed reading some of the things that Mark would post and the fact that he seemed to go that extra mile to explain things or import different products into the country.

This Scott guy seems.....questionable.....to say the least.

That was just the Commie Camo guys...jeesh, a manufacturer or retailer tries to be innovative and they get crucified LOL

Congrats Blaxsun, took long enough for Que.... to wake the hell up. I hope these guys at least have an internal meeting on the "do's and don'ts of customer service and QC"...it might be time to update the ol' OPS manual.

Yes... where is Mark? Strange...

Bah... Is it time to put the pitchfork away?

1) Glad your happy, and that you atleast got your $$$ back

2) This...

Is a cop-out, simply washing their hands of it & apparently you...

I'm happy for you, and sad at the same time. Questar needs to change.

I read things here I was not aware of. I was not aware Questar gave poor service. I was not aware they would ignore customers. I've dealt with them several times and had nothing but stellar service and a solid business relationship with them. If you got your money back, what else did you want that this has grieved you so much? If you haven't time for them, go to Alberta Tactical and do business there. Let this thing go. On the other hand, if you re-ordered a barrel from Questar, I'm sure they would deal with you the same way they've dealt with me in the past...they don't hold grudges.

You obviously did not read the whole story or the earlier thread, they sold him a rusted barrel with defects in the grooves and told him they inspected the barrel and took a picture of the barrel before shipping to blaxsun. They advertised the barrel as new, if Blaxsun new the condition he would never have purchased the barrel and this whole fiasco would not have happened. Then they put the solution forward of it being a warranty issue with LMT which it was not. Told him to wait 8 to 12 weeks but that could be a lot longer and with Questar it could be over 6 months or longer.

Not to mention I know personally Blaxsun has referred a lot of business Questars way in the past as have I, I fail to see how this is a successful business model with customer service being shown on this level. Perhaps they have been in the whole firearms selling world too long and have other problems behind the scenes.

Perhaps Scott at Questar thought Blaxsun was trying to pull one over on him for some reason but I can't see why he would think that. All in all they look like they are a shady place to buy from now, combined with the SCAR and ACR fiasco. Perhaps these issues have caused them a lot of stress and Scott inherited a lot of major problems that Mark dealt with usually. I personally will not write them off as a dealer in the future...... but I know when I buy stuff if it ain't working send it back and call your CC company immediately when dealing with Questar. I have also noticed they seemed to charge huge premiums on there rifles in the past and when other dealers brought the same product in the prices dropped dramatically, keep in mind the economy has changed along with many other factors, are dollar is worth more than the US now for one. That being said many people felt really burned on that, and many instances like that and literally witnessed the same rifle they bought drop in prices like $1800 over a few weeks and this left a bad taste in a lot of peoples mouth that were die hard Questar supporters prior.

Questar has done great things in the past and has made many products lines available that would not have been available, but considering how things are suppose to change at Brownells in 2013 with the $500 limit coming in I think many dealers may have to reevaluate there business models in the coming future.

You can't help but speculate the reason for Questars failures, hopefully this helps them out. But pissed off people start to talk and eventually you have a title wave to deal with!
