Called them, bought a nickel s&w over the phone and three days later when, I (not them) call them to enquire about shipping, they tell me the gun had already been sold when I bought it!!!
That may (b.s.) happens, although an item sold should show as much on their system; but what gets me is no-one bothered calling me back.
Disappointed and angry.

I'm sure there will be a whole bunch of people to say "oh there so great" but I also won't be dealing with them after two less than pleasant deals with them.

that's definitely disappointing and frustrating.

I've only had 1 experience with Epps and it was very good. ordered a pistol online and everything was smooth as can be. that's just my experience though. If I'd had a negative one I MIGHT be inclined to give them one more chance, but I usually operate on a '2 strikes and your out' mentality :p

Since they sold me the brand new, but non-functioning rifle that came back to me (after I paid shipping) fixed and fully functional, yet....scratched...I'm staying away from them. I'm generally receiving better service elsewhere.
They have quite a good selection though.

I find there overpriced on certain products. Usually newly released stuff. And they wont price match. Even when i was trading something in after repairs. But my first ever gun was a 10/22 and the service was good and it was shipped fast. So im 1 for 2 on Epps service.

I bought a used Benelli SBE listed as Very Good condition from Ellwoods about two weeks ago. Transaction was smooth although it took me 6 tries to get through to the gun counter.

However!! When I received the shotgun, the screw-in choke is in so tight I am unable to remove it and the pin holding the trigger assembly is missing the retention spring so when I turn the shotgun sideways it falls out.

I have taken it to my gunsmith to have things remedied.

For a firearm listed as very good (and $1100) it should never have left Ellwoods in this condition.

I am wondering since the demise of the LGR if their business has increased to the point of missing some basic quality checks. I am unimpressed and will be giving my future business to Clay Smiley at Prophet River Firearms whose service is outstanding.

Bought my wifes Glock 26 from them. No problem at all...exchanged some emails, settled on a price (as it was used), paid and it shipped after the approval. No mess, no fuss. Very smooth transaction for me.

poor service for me as well.

Wanted two mags, called the canadian importer and confirmed they were in stock at the distributor. Then confirmed that Epps was their dealer. placed the order, credit card charged immediately, now, that was three months ago and still no mags!!!

I asked them to review the sale timing to see if there was any truth to the fact that it was already sold when I bought it over the phone, which I still believe to be b.s.! No reply ... yet. Stay tuned.

I've had great service with them. Just this week, went in to buy a new S&W and they pulled one out of a phone sale to give it to me since I was there in person. Great service :D:D:D

I've been checking their used shotgun section for a while looking for a winchester defender 1300.

Checked today and noticed this for the first time:

Please note, item description may not be as described, and prices are subject to change

WHAT???

You guys are writing the descriptions WHILE LOOKING AT THE FIREARMS. How can they be innacurate???
