I own several pistols and I am looking for the ultimate one for my zombie defense kit.

Right now the winner is my Beretta 92-a1 because:

1) Full metal frame and slide, I like this because the weight improves my accuracy.

2) I love how simple it is to field strip, even easier than my glocks :eek:

3) DA/SA, I love the light crisp trigger of the SA, and The ability to be able to decock on a live round in the pipe.

4) Aesthetics, You have to admit the Berettas do looks bad ass.

5) It is almost identical to the 96-a1 in 40, they use the same holsters also, I can use the 92-a1 for range and 96-a1 when the big bad undead get here.

Before my love of my Beretta came back, My go to pistol was my M&P .40, its what we carry at work and I like it. Beats the hell out of glock anyway.

Well, I am looking for the ULTIMATE PISTOL, a pistol that can do everything my beretta can, and be able to be carried cocked and locked :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::cool::cool::cool:

Does a Pistol like this even exists? If so what is it and how much?
 
Well Taurus 92 is just like Beretta and can be carried cocked and locked!

So how come you like M&P better than gen4 Glocks? I sold my M&P after getting my gen4 Glocks.

My ultimate pistols are a tie between Beretta 92 Inox with a Novak rear sight and extended mag release button and gen4 Glock 22 for which I have a G17 upper. Light rail and night sights can be pretty useful.

So basically what you are saying is that you like everything about the Beretta, except the DA first shot trigger pull?

I suffered though HK DA/SA triggers for over a year and finally decided to go back to Glock. I learned a lot trying to shoot the HK properly and now I find the Glock trigger a real treat....well, at least my dry firing sessions have been positive. 1st range session with it tomorrow.:)
 
Love my stainless Sig with SRT, low maintenance, deadly accurate, all metal with decocker, you can even get it with a rail if that's your thing.

I would have to say my Shadow for all the reasons you mentioned but it has a safety and a rail so you can get your laser / light on for zombie aquisition in any light :)
 
You're talking about zombie defense. I'm no ballistician (all rights reserved), but I'm gonna say a big slow 230 gr piece of jacketed lead is what you need. Every zombie movie/book says to inflict trauma to the brain. I'ma go old school here and say you need a prescription for .45 acp.

Watch some z flicks; major damage inflicted at close ranges with pistols. You want to displace as much matter as possible, while looking as cool as possible.

Just remember, you aren't going to get out of there alive. Nobody does. You want to leave a legacy of splatter and casings, cause that's your best option at this point. A 1911 is your only choice, because you will most likely be grabbed from behind before you could empty more than a 7 round mag anyway. Also, any 1911 holster will work for any 1911 (you need a practical reason IF the undead keep you waiting).

More important than what pistol you have though is to have a cool thing to say when they start dragging you down. Your companions may mourn your loss, but you don't want them to remember you by: "Oww, I just got hammer bite!" Maybe something along the lines of "Hasta la vista baby", or "Prague is nice in the springtime", or "don't let my mom find my dirty magazines in my closet".

But seriously... nothing screams "Zombie Killer" like a gorgeous 1911 feeding on 230 gr .45 ACP JHP's.....
 
HK USP you can keep cocked and locked in your holster. Sig 226 Elite has a great SRT trigger and after the apocalypse you can get some 20rd 9mm or hi-cap 40cal mags from the states... (wait until the end of the world to do this).

Is 9mm enough to take down a zombie? Just need a head shot, right?
 
What you are looking for is a 1911 in .45acp. Feed it 230 gr FMJ ammo and feel good about yourself. You aren't ever going to have to use it for real in your ultimate Zombie defense kit anyway. Might I suggest a STI Trojan in .45acp or a new iteration of the Norinco version of the 1911. Either will do for your intended purpose.

If you are stuck on 9MM/.40cal then just buy a CZ75 B in either caliber. 9mm is cheap, available most places, and will be on the bodies of your Zombies you shoot.:D

My vote goes to the HK USP .40
Carry it cocked and locked, accurate and f'in reliable. It's #1 on my next to buy list after having the opportunity to spend some time with one recently. Of course it's followed very closely by a quality 1911 in .45 as my #2 next buy.
