I have way more pics to post...but it seems like photobucket is screwing up tonight...but stay tuned for more pics of our very own Gatey and Fasteel...ERR...I meant the FORD owner...

I had a great time, never done this before and Icehunter and Fassteel couldn't have been more accommodating. This is great fun and I just wish we had gophers on BC (Well kinda) :)

I am jealous, haven't been out for gophers in a couple years now.

Went out with the wife yesterday for an hour or so. Babies are up. Got almost 40 between us. Kind of funny, got to our spot, drove up the drive and met a small bear. Continued to drive around the house, saw another in the field sunning itself. Went into the owner's house got the .30-30 and went back out. Bear no longer on the tree line. Walked around nothing there. Went back in, put the rifle away, went out to shoot some gophers. Nice day when we started, but clouded over. Good way to spend time with the wife and her new 10/22.

There are MILLIONS of gophers in BC... Most are the size of a house cat.... I have rid a farm field or two of them with the blessing of the farmer and goverment.

Looks like you came well equipped tho... You may enjoy something with a larger mag in more productive areas :D

Gopher safaris are addictive!

Bahjeebuz?
That's not the famous treeseventyfivekingamajig?????
If so, good job on the decoy rim mag attacherment.
Been years since I've had a gopher shoot.
Dang it's fun.

My 2 favorite CZ's

Well I received the call last night to see if I'd like to come out and shoot some gophers from Ice, then I get the oh ya well there is this guy out in Acheson from BC needs to be picked up, would ya mind bringing him out. To which I replied Gatehouse!

I have always found in the past that taking a seasoned hunter out to the gopher patch for his first EVER foray into the wild prairie, to mostly be quite a bit of fun. Today was no exception.
I can't use the exact phrase that Gate used to describe just how much fun shooting gophers is and if we would have had less wind it would have even been more fun.

Got out the best of the best for this historic outing. Mr. gatehouse was given my sweetest shooting CZ American and he got use the Special ammo with the custom hollow points.

Ice as is customary did the Viking wiener BBQ on the tailgate. Viking wieners for those of you who don't know come from the Viking Butcher and with out a doubt are the finest wiener a gopher shooter can hope to be served.

I'm thinking this will not the the last time Gate goes to the gopher patch, perhaps next time we'll pull out the Hornets and he'll get to witness some flying gophers. FS

Yeah, I couldn't stop giggling and outright laughing at how much fun we were having. x2 on the Viking sausage. Great wieners! :)

Thanks again to my hosts! Very generous to share transport, guns, ammo, gophers and lunch with me! Proving once again that there are lots of great guys on CGN

Icehunter great stuff! Really wish we could of joined you out there this year. Slay a few for more for us. Hope you boys had fun. Icehunter is class act always, those wieners are great but if you ever try some of the deer sausage Ice had you travel back to Alberta every year. ;)

Ahhh memories.....
