Cop loses gun

WTS: Recently acquired P226 service pistol. Round count unknown. Slight scuff marks from being dropped on cement by previous owner. Open to reasonable offers.

They should accuse him of selling the gun illegally, and then lay a bunch of charges.

That's what would happen to anyone else.

coincidence that that groundskeeper in Detroit 'found' a gun the same day that a cop in Van 'lost' one? a 2,000 mile bounce? Where's bandit86, I bet he's got a theory about how a gun could bounce into space :)

Plainclothes officers means not the most secure method of carry. Uniformed officers usually have a number of retention devices on their holsters but not so for plainclothes so this is probably where things went south.

Reminds me of the one a Waterloo Regional officer lost a few years ago...in a backpack..that he left unattended. I don't think they ever recovered that one.

So if a person found it and turned it in but didnt have a rpal, you think he would get charged? Lol

Of course not. Even if you didn't have a R-PAL or PAL and 'found it' and turned it in you wouldn't be charged. At least not in BC here.
