This was passed on to me this past weekend. It was one of my grandfathers that he hunted deer with throughout his life. My cousins got the Winchester Centennial '66 Rifle gold plated. I have always wanted a lever action since I was a young gun!

.30 Winchester Model 94 Lever action Aug 21 1894. No serial number.

Very nice. If you are going by barrel markings for the date, don't. Those are patent dates, not build dates. Try plugging the serial number in here to get the year it was built. Actual date usually requires a letter from the Cody museum.

The rifle had a sticker on it for years.. I looked over the gun when I got it for a serial number.. Just looked again.. Nothing..:(

You got the better of the two by far. Nice score. Make sure it's still safe to shoot and then take it to the range and enjoy. If it could only tell stories.

Cleaned it out this evening. It hasent been shot in 7 years. No rust was in the barrel. Believe my has a dummy bullet I want to cycle through it.

It must have had a serial number.
The number is on the bottom of the receiver, just behind where the barrel screws in. If it is not visible, it must have been worn/polished off. Look again for any sign of a number at that point.
It was made sometime prior to 1964. It has the same markings--Winchester Model 94-30WCF, same butt plate pattern and forend pattern, as my early 1940s rifle.
