Just started my collection in the past few weeks, making good progress.

I am a Fudd's worst nightmare. Although I also want a National Match Gold Cup. I decided I have to have a 45acp 1911 and since I want it for no other reason than that they're cool and their historical significance, it has to be a Colt. But can't justify spending so much right now... maybe next year or if I find one cheaper (yeah right).

since my RPAL is still being processed and I don't own a single firearm yet....my wish list is simple:

S&W M&P 9mm range and carry kit

talk to me after I've put a few hundred rounds through it...I expect my list will grow
 
A sub-$1000 1911 in .45 is a must for me to round out my 1911s in 9mm and .22 and then I'm set until next year. Heavily leaning towards the Remington R1 in stainless, though I wouldn't be against the idea of another Kimber if the price was right.

Currently don't have anything on my radar at the moment.

Last two I bought were an old model Ruger Vaquero in .44 Mag and a 1909 mfg Colt Pocket Hammer .38 ACP.

I'm not a 90th percentile Austrian male.

I don't like the grip in my hands (when I last shot one in competition I remember the edges digging into my hands and I don't generally have a total death grip when I shoot). The common complaint is "it felt like I was shooting a brick."

I didn't like the feel of the trigger (It honestly felt like every time I squeezed the trigger I was deforming it back - :puke:).

I don't like the weight characteristics. I don't like to be able to feel the balance of a gun appreciably shift as I consume the magazine. I own and shoot a steel framed pistol for a reason.

And the most petty reason of all: I think it's ugly.

Admittedly it was 5 years ago when I last fired one and the interchangeable back straps may make the grips more comfortable, and a decent trigger-job and replacement connector may improve the trigger feel. I may give them another chance but not until I've checked out other striker guns.

Just my humble opinion.

This is my problem. Been hunting for a BHP to replace the one I shouldn't have sold a while ago, but another Colt came up very recently that I couldn't say no to.

List:

BHP (in 9mm, haven't decided what generation I want)

S&W 29 (not too nice because I want to cut it to 4.2", thanks to all the pics of a certain ivory-clad 4")

Colt's Ace .22

Uberti 1873 .45 Colt (the lever gun)
