My new NEA15 CQB Problems out of the box....

i will just add WOW to the trigger parts..... the norks have better finish on them. Just saying.
That is some rough looking s**t right there. And what is with the BCG, they said they had the staking done properly now. Still looks to me like it is the same sharp looking cuts like the early ones.

That's not the trigger we currently use in our rifles. Nor the spring. From the serial of the rifle it's from an earlier batch. We just need to find out how the customer got it without it being retrofitted to the new components.

The staking is also proper on the BCG. Metal in displaced into metal. The definition of a staked and is consistent with the staking device used. The comparison photo is staking done with a hydraulic press and die.

Again, quite a while back we had an issue with a couple end plates being high. This has been addressed. not knowing where the lower was grabbed from or when myself I can only assume that it's a older rifle that made it out from somewhere. All of our rifles that have been released in Canada for a while have had a new serial number designation denoting that it's "domestic". This rifle predates that. So it has some issue past known that have now been dealt with. So we'll bring this one back up to the norm and get him rocking.

NEA is working with me on this despite my idiocy in attempting to fix the problem myself. DO NOT DO WHAT I DID. Impatience has always been a fault of mine. I would like to thank Dave and apologize to NEA for my amateur gunsmithing. I really look forward to firing this thing!! I want to be a happy customer and Dave is taking the steps to make me one.

Sorry to hear this Satain can I ask that you guys keep it out of this thread please. I don't like drama. I hope you can work it out and no one get banned. Politics man.

Dave/NEA can you perhaps address the poor finish/machining lines in these pictures. In particular there appears to be a few people who say this is normal for NEA.

While most of your issues seem to be relatively minor I would seriously consider sending it back. If you're going to pay good money for something you shouldnt have to fix it right out of the box. That's just my opinion, but most reputable companies are understanding about that stuff and will do their best to accomodate you.

All the parts I wanted (except the BAL) fit and functioned on mine.

Not everybody wants to play dress up all the time with their AR. Don't get me wrong, accessories are part of the fun for sure, but so is shooting it. Just depends on what owners are into. For some the Norc is just fine.

Even though he modified his components, which voids our warranty we are providing him with new replacement components and keeping his warranty valid. We just need the old parts back so they're out of the system.

which is why i chose NEA i didn't want to have to change handguards and front site post etc. to free float. also canadian made vs chinese.

the cosmetic stuff is a definite turn off if for no reason more than someone looking at my rifle sees that and goes eww makes that face... but like Dave says my rifle is an old batch that had somehow popped up. maybe the new ones are better can anyone post pics of that area from their own rifles? the lower is pretty well done i would say hardly a swirl mark on it. the upper is the one that got beat with the ugly stick. but for the components this rifle has I don't think it can be beat for the price. a free float slabside rail and installation on a nork would come out to more than the NEA does.. I know i priced out building my own and was low end at 1300 before taxes / shipping using mostly Spikes tactical components.

I for one support them and hope to see them succeed in this market place. Just because i got a bad one don't assume they are all like this. Quality Product, Price, and customer service are the three things that make or break any company.

Updates to follow....

It sounds like you only recently got this. Was this a private sale or through one of the dealers? (this one seems to have slipped through a few recalls or upgrades) The great thing with NEA is they appear to have an excellent warranty, and do seem to respond quickly to concerns.

I agree that for the features/price the NEA is hard to beat. It's ironic the lengths that people will go to defend an inferior product such as a Norc M4, simply because it's the cheapest offering. "Cheap" does not necessarily equate "good". Some of the outlandish claims about accuracy and reliability are quite laughable...

The fact is that the Norc M4 no longer enjoys such a dramatic difference in price point from a lot of ARs out there, and when you start comparing features - for the slight difference you're also typically getting better furniture, BCG, barrel, rail system, etc.

It boggles my mind that anyone who goes through the headache of getting all their paperwork in order and decided to purchase an AR, would go with one of these, can they not work an extra few days and hold out a bit to buy an LMT or STAG why put up with any of the bs that is entagled with these rifles, canadian made or not. Its the same for the Norc ar imo....

Mine is a new model (purchased from the shooting edge last week). End of serial has a 'D' which I assume is domestic?

Mine has been hit with the ugly stick all over, my tooling marks are pretty much identical to yours on the upper. I also have them on the lower and rail. The more I look at it, the more I get irritated by the cosmetics, was expecting much better, to sum it up, functional yes, pretty no!!

I agree, I see it as senseless and way to much headache afterwards..If you are on a tight budget it makes total sense, but for most people i know that bought a Norc or NEA they could have spent more or saved a little and got something more reliable.
