P14's for $100 and they are now 4 to 5 times that.

This is almost worse than Buffdog's post of prices from the 60's.

I recall buying 3 M1917s from SIR about 3 yrs previous to this. They were Danish surplus and in very nice shape. I bought my first piece from them, a stone mint No5 JC, in 1962 when they were located on Vaughan St in downtown Winnipeg.

Enfields for $65 (compared to $350 and up now) and SKSes for $300 (opposed to $180).

Times change eh ?

Wish I could get one of the 1895 Chileans in 7x57 for that price today. Same goes for the Turk 1893.

The very first military surplus rifle I ever bought came from S.I.R.,a Mod91/30 Mosin Nagant.I can't remember the exact year,I think 76 or 77 something like that. The price was 29.99 with all the "fixins".The surplus ammo in 7.62X54R came in little 15 round mouldy smelling boxes I think for 1.99 a box or maybe less, can't exactly remember.I know I bought quite a whack of the stuff.

I don't think they are as common as Soviet made M44s but I think Polish M44s are the most desirable due to their condition and quality of make.
