Help narrowing down my .223 purchase

stay away from the remington budjet rifles.... unless you like having your bolt handle break off.
Savage Axis is not a bad starter gun. I have sold quite a few to guys looking for a light weight deer gun that gets the job done but they won't cry if it gets beat up in the woods.

My budget was tight a few years back, so my .223 is an older Remington 700 ADL Synthetic topped with an economical Burris FF 4.5-14. The blind magazine doesn't hinder me in the least and it's deadly on coyotes at our farm

I went with the Savage Axis XP in stainless....shot it a bit this evening. Shoots well but as expected the scope is going to be replaced ASAP

Looked at the Vanguard S2 and it was out of my budget. Stevens 200 was all sharp edges and felt "cheaper" than the Axis. The Axis small grip seemed to fit nicely and I found it comfortable to shoot.
