What type of lock do you use to transport for your AR? and how do you store it at home? I am thinking about using a cable lock for the AR and a one for the bolt carrier inside a gun cabinet.

I don't have an AR, but I recommend this. Works well in my XCR, just needed to be sanded a bit.

I just use a trigger lock and a standard locking case... I strongly recommend a combination style lock, as opposed to a key lock, that b@stard Murphy will dictate, that you'll forget the keys on your biggest and most important range day ever ;)

Trigger lock and locking case, but a friend got a MagVault and loves it. I may have to swtich.

I always thought a trigger lock on an AR that had a hinged trigger guard was kind of silly. Although I suppose you still have to use a 'tool' to remove it.

Like the need to have a trigger lock in the first place wasn't silly enough in the first place?

I just use a combination type trigger lock. It covers the pivot pins on my Colt and my NEA doesn't even have a hinged trigger guard.

Trigger Lock, combination style. Works on all guns and no damn keys for Murphy to screw with.

I've forgotten my keys so many times that I keep a small screwdriver in the clubhouse at the range. I can open all my trigger locks almost as fast with it as with keys.

I thread a Franzen combination cable lock through the chamber and up the mag well. In transport it goes into a case or bag that also has a combo lock. At home it goes into the safe.
