Who do you think makes the most accurate 9mm 1911 format production gun out there. I am looking at picking something up along these lines in the near future.

Price no object?
Something from Nighthawk Custom.

Something mid-high priced?
STI Rangemaster

Something reasonably priced?
STI Spartan.

I've owned a Nighthawk and a Spartan--both great pistols in their price range.

If I had to recommend an out of the box gun to fit your requirement, I'd suggest the STI Trojan. With a bigger budget, there are slightly better guns available, but on a bang for buck basis it's probably ideal.

If you want a double snack mag (high capicaty)

I would say a Para P18-9 limited edition worth to consider ,match grade barrel, nice trigger , good to fit all matches.

Really? A Para? Probably the last 1911 anyone should buy. Possibly the last gun anyone should buy. Id trust my life with a hi-point over a para.

I hear the Para's have had some trouble. As for how accurate, I would need it for PPC and in that game, there is some 50yard stuff. I was thinking about a nice Kimber since they can be had here on the forum used for a decent buck. I used to have a series 70 and that was a semi that I could shoot well so that is what I am going to be looking for-that platform.

Year 2000 model of p18-9 limited (para)

for para ,there is no issue for those make in year 2000 or before , I had been shooting IPSC standard minor with this gun , no problem.

Any of the STI 9mm 1911's, I would go for the STI Trojan in 9mm. They are amazing firearms, and very well priced.

If you decide to go with them then buy through the Canadian distributor which is Sean at Freedom Ventures, they are a sponsor at the top. I doubt you can find better customer service in Canada.

you are going to have to define "accurate" more specifically. accurate enough for bulls eye or accurate enough for IPSC?

Ideally these should be the same level of accuracy, but there is the false belief that you don't need to be accurate in IPSC.

It's a money question friend :D. If you purchase a Les Baeur it's gonna make one hole at 50 yards, but the hole in your wallet will swallow an elephant. For less then 400 you can get a norc that will shoot 3+ inches at 20 yards....for 800+ you can start looking at a trojan, and that would be my recommendation.

The question is, how well can you shoot? If you cant shoot a 6" group at 20 yards, there's no sense spending more then the 400, other then to have a nice pretty gun. (not that that's a bad reason)

I've shot trojan and kimber in 9 and was quite happy with both, but i'd have purchased the trojan first.

If you gave me my pick i'd take one of the smith and wesson 9mm performance center guns, to me its the best balance of value to gun. but then i'm a smith lover so i'm biased :)
