Yep we've been in touch, he voluntarily mailed me out a new mount and I am mailing him back the old one still. Great Service! I really doubt it is the CASM as it seems quality x 10 haha. Maybe I should take the plunge and pop off my iron sights again and see what the new mount he sent me does...after I finish fixing my grizzly mag that I pooched, one only has so many clean surfaces!

My Springfield Armoury gen 4 mount works great. First time sighting it in I was just 5" off center. Very happy with it.
lol. The problem is his rifle doesn't have enough flair. I mean, some people are fine with the minimum number of flair items...
You could make a nice little 45 degree bore sighter by sawing off a piece of 30 cal wood dowel at 45 degrees and glue onto it a piece of mirror. Stick the short stub of dowel in an old cartridge and position in the mag so that you can look down into the mirror, and out the barrel.

If the new mount doesn"t line up correctly you could do what i did and remove a very small amount of material from the front of the casm mount so that it lines up with the bore . i did it with mine a it worked well . your sight pocket looks almost as bad as mine . the lip in the front of the sight pocket was the issue with mine . it is a pretty easy fix

will this be a common problem on M305s? i'm looking to get one within the next year or so and am planning on mounting a scope or dot sight.
@Yomomma: makes sense however it can easily be misconstrued with the lack of an explanation as you did a couple posts back. i'd advise not using it, it's not particularly clever and it can get you in serious trouble.

I have 10x40 Bushnell Elite Tactical on a SAI Gen 4 mount and it works fine on my Norinco M14S.

Maybe I'm late to the party, have you tried to level the scope to a level rifle, plus if that Hi-Lux is your scope, stop right there. Ditch the scope.
Spend a couple hundred bucks on at least a fixed 10x Bushnell Elite. Although in many of your posts you state the scope looks good, the internals are probably a mess. You will NEVER get consistency with that scope. Sorry, It's junk. Once you have a good scope you should be fine, if the fundamentals are all there.
Like I said maybe late to the party, but I have been where you are. Went back to square one, good scope, good mounts/rings, levelling kit, loctite blue and torque wrenches. Slow and steady, then clean the rifle, then go to range fire a few foulers and start sighting in. Now happy. Good Luck.
Sorry guys but real life hit me hard. Student loans, apartment, making my own food (Must obtain a wife), school all day, homework all evening, guns at my parents farm. It will be awhile until I post relevant stuff in this thread, unless thread comes back and says it was the mount! Haha
