So,

I have a acquired a few new SKS's for my collection, so I decided while at work, that when I would come home in the evening, I would attempt to improve/make my cheapest crappiest, most franken pinned Chinese SKS more badass.

I stripped it down and sanded the stock, then coated it in bedliner.

Here is the finished project:

It took 30 minutes start to finish, and about $4 worth of bedliner.

What do you all think? Is this bubba'd? Am I going to hell?

Bedliner? That's new...so aside from tapco and ati stuff, you built the first original shaped "composite" stock!
Just for the novelty: Thumps up!
That is NOT "duemmer als die polizei erlaubt"....

Why does everyone always take out the cleaning rod? Looks incomplete without it. Otherwise nice job.

It all depends on how well it shoots with Czech surplus(to me anyways). I had 13 "SKSes", a mix of Chinese and Russian, and a Chinese Factory 26 is the keeper. That is the way to find a good SKS, IMHO. I still take a look at any I see of course...

How "badass" it looks is not important at all. How it shoots is important.

Granted my keeper does look very similar, but it is in a spray bomb bedlinered Chinese jungle stock(I got it that way). The stock fit to the action is very very tight.

With the possible exception of the more rare and collectible SKS's, I'd say, "Improve away, bro!"
And that's not "Bubba'd", you need some rails on that puppy, and maybe a pistol grip too.

Way to go :) But needs rails and lasers and megamag and bipod...the list goes on :)
Your gun only has to make YOU happy eh...Have fun shopping :)

Looks good, you are on the right track.. there is nothing wrong with BUBBAing the SKS.. most of us been there done that.. :)

It's your gun. Do whatever you want.
I think it looks good , where did you get the bed liner from? Can tire?
I might do that to my old norinco stock.

Sorry to thread jack, but I just recently did a few shotgun stocks with walmart bed liner, only like $5 a can, and it is good stuff. I hate the overpriced crappy trash brand. :p

I grinded the bolt on mine so you can drop the magazines in and out of it with out having to open the bolt to do it. Easy to do just take your time looks like crap right now but if I cared how it looked I would file and polish it so you wouldn't even notice it. Didn't do anything to hurt the rifle or change it only drops the magazines in and out. I was consdering the duck bill less moddifcation to the magazines but figured if they can go in and out with out it who cares.

I say if you have more than one, and its a run-of-the-mill Russian refurb (esp, BBQ painted one) or any Chinese SKS, who cares. There are 100's thousands of them in Canada. Don't touch a non-refurb Russian. I bubba'd one of mine ('52 refurb) as a B.O.B. rifle, and I couldn't be happier with it.

I will have to pick some up from Walmart then, the crappy tire brand is like 9.99 a can and it isn't the greatest.

How was the texture of the Walmart stuff? Can you post some pics?

So which bedliner is the best?

I may do the same if the stock on mine shows up looking like crap.
Rhino Liner is good, if you google it, you can see the texture of all of the different brands. The stuff I used is the crappy tire red can and the texture isn't super rough.
