Decisions decisions! For open areas,my remington model 700 BDL in .270(made back when remington meant quality) and for thicker areas my savage model 99 lightweight in .300 sav.
Mine would probably in thick brush with shots under 100 yard is my ruger 77/357. For more open areas I like my savage scout in 308. I rarely hunt game over 250-300 yards with my rifles. And I try to give it my best shot with a bow before I go to a rifle.
Favorite? I guess it depends on which day of the week it is. BRNO ZG-47 in 30-06 (boring caliber, i know) is very accurate and packs a good punch. Rossi M92 in .454 Casull is my newest and favorite at the moment. This also packs a good punch but it's not a long range rifle, that's for sure. Don't know what my next favorite is going to be but i wouldn't mind a 270. Time will tell i guess.
My 9.3X62 built on an FN action with a Heym 21" barrel all nestled in a dark walnut laminated stock by Paul Harper. Need to take a new picture and post it.
The same rifle with a Leupold M8-3X. It now has an NEGC banded front ramp sight installed by Bill Leeper. He also installed a Redfield flip up reciever sight in the steel rear base to use with the front sight.
Pulling up strong behind that one is a new 9.3X62 on a pre '64 Model 70 in a synthetic stock. Just started load development for it. It has a very "fast" barrel and is just crazy accurate.
