Seeing as there's been a lot of DD black beauties sold/bought recently, figured let's show em off.
Anything DD applies. :)

I had some Testors model paint kicking around that I used. I believe it was Ford Red and white.

- Clean the area of any oils/grease with some acetone.
- Use a toothpick to fill in the engravings but don't over do the fill.
- Wait about an hour or two for the paint to dry.
- Fold a piece of paper towel a couple times so it's somewhat rigid, wet with acetone and LIGHTLY brush over the engravings.

Hopefully just the excess paint is removed. If you get some smudging, let the paint dry some more and repeat.

Oh, if your M4 has a slight play in the upper/lower ie it rattles when you shake it left/right, have a look at the last image above with the hammer, notice there are two strips of electrical tape on the lower frame just behind the hammer. No need to buy M4 rubber wedges... at least for now.

Finally got my DDM4V5 today.
Here is what she looked like when I picked her up...

Added some ARMS backup sights, Trijicon reflex sight, MOE-K grip, Inforce light, and removed the vertical grip. I also have a BAD lever that I'll be installing tonight.

Put 70 rounds through her at the range today without any issues. Fun gun to shoot, but restricted status = super lame. Gonna write a letter tonight after work.
Also, I'm sure I'll get used to it, but so far I'm really not feeling the AR charging handle.
 
You should take a look at the BCM charging handle, much stronger and more comfortable than the stock charging handle. I have the BCM Mod4.

Thanks. I was actually gonna order one the other night when I was ordering some other stuff, but they were out of stock. Any idea who might have some in stock right now?
 
You can try ordering from Brownells. The only Canadian dealer that I know is Questar, but they are out of stock for the Mod4.
