Announced on The Firearm Blog... IWI announces the X95 will be available in 5.45x39mm! Looks pretty slick in flat dark earth, too! ;)

The new conversion kit was developed for the very successful X95 - which can be used as an Assault Rifle, Carbine, or Submachine Gun (SMG) with an effective range of 150m for 9mm caliber configuration. It enables the X95 to be operated worldwide, due to its compatibility with both western and eastern ammunition, thus saving training time, spare parts, and overall costs. The new kit has already been armament and operationally tested in extreme conditions including dust, water, heat, and cold (- 60⁰C) - as well as for shooting accuracy - passing all tests with remarkable success.

But is it good for bear defence? ;) :p

At a 13" barrel it's not that appealing to me, then again the only thing appealing to me about the Tavor is non-restricted status. I wonder if North Silva can come up with a non-restricted deal with IWI?? Otherwise it's not allowed for bear defence.... whatever shall I do?

Lets hope it does make it here.
We need a gun in 5.45x39.

Its a Catch-22 situation so far.
No AK variants allowed, so no-one imports CHEAP! 5.45 ammo into Canada, and with no ammo coming in, there's not much call for other guns in 5.45/

I'd be happy to get one in 9mm. I've only been waiting 3 years or so now.

Should add it looks really good in FDE. Plus yes I would go for a 5.45x39 version. Providing we could actually get the ammo and it was cheap.

Hmm, interesting... It looks like they changed the location of the bolt catch and the magazine release from the original Tavor. I like!
