FALLing Prices.... It's SIG SAUER SEASON!!!

I bet they are sold out on most stock... I got my order in :D. I posted about the Sig sale in the Pistols thread several times in the last 3 days (even told my range buddy that his dream gun just went on sale-he bought it!), sales don't last forever. Stock does sell out.

They sold a ton of Sigs I am sure. Strong dollar, excellent deals to be had.

Original post about the sale was Sep 28, you guys had almost a month to get your order in.

Just because you're right doesn't mean you should say stuff - the nerve lol.

I've missed sales before, so I try to keep my eye on the forums to see them coming. I suggest you do the same. I believe many sponsors have a newsletter, not sure if Questar does or not.

The sale was 2 days short of a FULL 4 WEEKS.
They stated it was LIMITED Time.

How much time do you need? Questar generally has some of the best pricing on Sig. Add sale pricing and you get the best deal around, even less than U.S MSRP!

as they say, YOU Snooze! YOU Lose!

Take it easy.

Holy dude take it easy. It's just a fun conversation not a ##### out or anything. I really wasn't looking for a public spanking. I hemmed and hawed and researched etc and lost out on saving about $150 beans - not enough to piss me off or anything. I was just remarking on the laughability of the timing for me. Chill dude.

Our plan was to run the sale until sometime in November... But things don't always go as planned :)

It appears that our sale pricing set-off a number of "complaints" that made their way to SIG USA... Next we know we get notification yesterday that SIG is changing our cost pricing... Without notice... Substantially higher.

As you can understand this has thrown our entire SIG program into limbo. We had no choice but to discontinue the sale and until we can figure out what's going on we removed "advance order" models, leaving just the in-stock guns on the website.

At this point we are reevaluating whether it pays to keep handling SIG in future... As a decision is made we will post info on our website.

I have a Receipt for a custom order and a Questar rep emailed me to tell me everything was good, it just hasn't been processed yet... Will you honour all orders put in before the sale ended?

It is a shame that they reacted this way to the "complaints". Hopefully it all works out in the end for you. One less vendor will only result in higher prices charge by the remaining vendors. Is it safe to assume that those of us that got our orders in before SIG changed your plans are OK?

That is our intention... In-stock guns are no issue at all... Custom order guns are only an issue if SIG refuses to ship them... at this point SIG appears to be accepting the orders so we just need to wait for them to ship.

As for the price change we intend to absorb that so not the customers problem... But we would appreciate not being criticized for ending the sale without notice... Not really our fault ;)

Any word on how long orders are taking for the custom order Sig guns? I know it says 12 to 24 weeks, just wondering if it's generally substantially more.
I have a custom order for a P226 with Questar that's not expected to come until say, the end of December. IF Sig is giving you the run around, please let me know and I will totally understand if you cannot fulfill my order since it seemed to be quite the "rare" model (Nitron Stainless), especially if, after the sale, you're losing money on it. I understand you're in business to make money and don't expect you to fill my order for nothing, or for a loss.

Mine is a custom ordered pistol... 1911 Match Elite 2-Tone... so it's the 12-24 week wait one.

Alright, the explanation is enough for me. I'm content. Hope all is well and I receive it and Questar doesn't get raped by Sig Sauer. Didn't realize the inner workings of manufacturer/supplier/retail was so volatile

If the order was placed a little while ago then it's already in SIG's order system and well worth waiting for. Most recent orders are just getting into the system... BUT... The way SIG builds and processes guns is hard to figure and impossible to forecast. They don't have different lines producing constant streams of each model. Instead they produce models in batch runs... So this week they may be producing 3 or 4 versions of the 226 and assuming they have enough components they will produce enough to fill all their outstanding orders... So we could get that model even though we only just ordered it... Yet a different model that isn't built until 2 months from now won't get shipped until its built. We never know what is being built when or how many will get built so we have to assume worst case and estimate 12 to 24 weeks since this usually covers us 90% of the time.

This year SIG (like many others) can't keep up with demand... Product shortages are rampant throughout the industry... Parts shortages... Material shortages... Production capacity... All of these are issues. There is almost nothing that we can order and get full quantity for immediate shipment. Barrels often take 8 to 16 weeks or more... We still have products that we ordered back at SHOT last January which still haven't been shipped... Including a few SIG guns.

I actually run an online toy store and had one of my manufacturers do the same to me a few months back so trust me I know how this can suddenly come up. It's unfortunate since I really wanted to order but what can you do. I had these guys threaten to pull my reseller cert. manufacturers suck sometimes and when the competition can't compete they complain. A notice on the site would have been nice though that the sale had to be pulled unexpectedly just seeing nothing under the sig category leaves a lot of unanswered questions.

Thanks Mark. The order was placed in the middle of July, so hopefully Sig is delivering on those models soon. :)
Thank-you for ordering it. Other places told me this model was discontinued, despite it being on Sig's site.

SIG has done some very strange things, this past year especially. On a number of occassions they have simply stopped producing models that they announced and took orders for. In some instances they did this with brand new product that never actually came out. On other occassions they cancelled a model without letting anyone know they had done so... so dealers were taking and submitting orders for an item that SIG had decided they weren't going to produce... but didn't notify anyone about.

There has been a lot of staff turn-over and changes at SIG this past year... not sure what to make of it all.

Sometimes they will honour the PO's that they have outstanding and other times they simply tell Scott the orders are "cancelled" and give no explanation or anything.

I wish I could tell you different, but the truth is that until a gun is at our US office Scott simply never knows anything for sure. Once we have it in our hands then we can truly make commitments but until we have control of the firearm we're at the mercy of the manufacturer's who usually do what's best for them.

I assume the complaints came from "other" CGN sponsors? unreal.

Other sponsors complain about a company putting on a sale? Why don't they put on a sale of their own... Hope we get some names so I will know where not to shop. How trivial can someone/store be. Really.

As long as these other stores that complained get their cost raised as well, that would be fair. Silly politics of CGN I guess.

I thought they sold out all their stock and that's why the sale stopped, but this reason is beyond me.

I assume the complaints came from "other" CGN sponsors? unreal.

SIG didn't name names... only said that they received complaints. But there's nothing new about that. Ever since we started selling SIG product there have been "complaints" from Canadian "distributors" about us. Our pricing makes it much more difficult for distributors to make money acting as "middle men".

I can't see these complaints coming from other CGN Sponsors since I'm not sure any other CGN Sponsors buy directy from SIG USA (at least not that I can think of). Most CGN Sponsors buy from SIG distributors (either here in Canada or in the US). We actually buy directly from SIG USA themselves. My guess is that one or more of the Canadian distributors for SIG complained... but that's just my guess... SIG didn't tell us and we didn't ask.

What makes me laugh is that we watch as other dealers have sales... under-cut our pricing... often advertising product for less than MAP pricing (which is the lowest price that SIG allows ANY dealer to advertise products at). Supposedly any dealer advertising below MAP pricing will be cut-off by SIG for breach of their dealership agreement (MAP Pricing Agreement)... yet we compete by having a sale (and we still comply with SIG's MAP pricing policy) and we get hit with an across the board price increase.

No-one said life was fair :)

We're not complaining... I don't blame anyone... it's the real world and we play by "big boy rules".

The only reason I posted anything is because people were trying to figure out what was going on and why the sudden change. Many guesses were being posted and I think people deserve to know the truth. I'm not about to BS people... truth is truth.
