So, took my baby to the range last weekend and shot approximately 150 rounds(Federal made AE bulk, and some handloads mixed in) while trying to get my sights aligned correctly. Long story short it was shooting more accurately before I started mucking with the sights, I have no idea what I'm doing. The gun shot fine, and was great fun. I got eye humped by some kid through the window, he probably ran home and immediately spent the next ten hours playing Call of Duty.

However, the reason I'm posting this is to ask if this looks like a normal amount of wear and tear after having shot 150 rounds. In particular, what the hell is that on my disconnector and is it going to make my #### fall off? I don't remember seeing a mark like that prior to going out shooting. I suppose it's possible it was there but less apparent, because I really can't think what would have caused it while I was shooting. Close inspection shows that it's present on all but the machined tip of the disco. I don't know how these are made, but it looks like it could be a casting error. It doesn't seem to be a crack, as the uppermost tip of the disco is unblemished, but it is a definite gouge. Maybe 1/4th of a millimeter or something as a rough eyeballing.

Please school me on how an AR15 should wear.

I see nothing wrong here. It looks like the coating is worn off where moving parts meet. This is normal

Well, what I'm really worried about is this

Like, is this thing going to crack in half and make my expensive gun explode?

Looks like a casting flash that was not cleaned up. I don't know for a fact that DD casts that part, but that is what it looks like.
As for the rest of it, it is normal wear on the finish from use.

is there a line on your dis connector being formed by the hammer hitting it as well? not the flashing going along the dis connector, but going across where the hammer lines up

or is that just the light shining on it

not a expert,, but the rough line in the metal from one end to the other looks like you have stamped metal parts

it OK the world revolves around stamped metal parts and would stop still if there were no more being made

it's a sheer line from the first operation in making your part , your part will last a long time

Well if you are really worried about it I'll take it off your hands for cheap!

Honestly though I wouldn't worry about it, I've heard nothing but great things about DD.

The only reason DD gets so much praise is because of their torture test video. I feel sorry for any of you who bought these when the other 6 AR brands selling for 500 dollars less are smoother and better quality.
