Best Coyote gun?

Hey thanks for the reply.

Good to know that it can be done.

I was kind of looking around for some 110gr rounds in town here, but everyone just seems to carry the 130 and 150's. Ill keep looking. thx

EDIT: What are some store bought none expanding rounds to look for?

just got one at 220 yards with the 8x57 and 200 grain partitions, if you are only shooting the occasional one an elk rifle is fine. otherwise i would pick the 22-250.

I shot one the other day with a marlin 22" 45/70. 480gr hard cast flat nose at 1700. 180 yards running with a little lead and a little elevation... Hit it like a truck :). My new favourite coyote gun after that shot :)

I am calling them in, but in the spot I am at the shots will likely be up to 300 yards, also thinking about saving the pelts so that was why I was thinking 22 - 250 at that range.
I think you answered your own question here.

Yuk Yuk ... why stop at that... why not just use artillery and get it over with.

The 70 grain Noslers I use are supposed to break up quickly inside the animal - just like that little 50 grain vmax pill on youtube vs the grape. Well, as my pics demonstrate, doesn't happen all the time.

Which would you suggest between the .223 and the .204? I'd like to get into coyote hunting and save pelts. Most shots would be between 100-300 yards probably more at 250-300. Any suggestions?

Also, I like the cheap ammo factor of the .223 but not sure which would be the best calibre choice for the given application
