6.75lbs
Stainless, fluted, ceracoted. Fiberglass stock. Apparently great trigger.
Guaranteed to shoot better than MOA with factory ammo.
Been told street pricing up here will be $1200.

I had one of these in the first Vanguard line with a 3.5-15 Minox on it and it was a sweet rig. I would love to try one of these in a .300 Bee.....

Some one in the induxtry is listening, cause Remington is trying to flog injection mold crap on rifles for $1000 still......

$1200 is some pretty serious coin, at $300 more than a SS M70 FWT and within spitting distance of a Kimber Montana.

Should be a half decent rifle even if the price is steep for a vanguard. The first back country's were the best vanguards they made.

What calibers are being offered?

I liked the original Backcountry too (missed one in .270 for $600!).
I see this one, like the first series, also lacks a 7mmRM chambering? That seems odd as the 7mm would be an obvious natual for this kind of rifle. So would .25-06. I wonder what the reasoning is? I guess .25-06 might cut into .257 sales?

The points about its price being right on the heals of a Montana or Forbes are valid. Has anyone seen the Forbes 24B in Canada yet?

for less than a few hundred more and you can get into the new markV fibermark. I was anxiously awaiting the new backcountry release for a few months now, hoping it would be much like the original BC. mainly for a lightweight rifle to compliment an accumark.

oh well....the hunt continues to find an original I guess.

Please see: Model 700 Mountain SS.

But I'm sure you cant read, let alone spell...Ogre :D

Where ya been? Doing something stupid like actually hunting? I've quit it myself.

Both are guaranteed to shoot sub moa, the tikka with a actual stock on it and being truly stainless is a much better deal imo, especially over a plastic piece of junk like a wannabe weatherby:puke:

Figures a PlasTikka owner cant tell the difference between injection molded plastic and fiberglass. As well as seeing the obvious benefits of a Vanguard action over a T3.
