Brace yourself I just saw a commercial for a remake of Red Dawn!!!

Brace yourself I just saw a commercial for a remake of Red Dawn!!!

I read that title and instantly thought "It better be the Russians or the Chinese and NOT N.Korea." LOL!! How predictable. If it were either of the aforementioned I'd see it.

The fact that it is virtually impossible for N.Korea to invade really ruins it :(

In all honesty I'd rather it be a US vs Canada or Mexico. <sigh>

I still think the Russians and Cubans would have been better than North Korea. Russians can kick some ass once they get their crap together. North Korea is lame.

The Chinese would be a worthy challenge too, with their swarm attacks and increased emphasis on marksmanship. And their ruthless pragmatic nature.

The only problem with the Chinese is most of their weapons are old junk. And the Japanese would see them going by and alerting the world. Now the original makes sense. Cubans are right here and the Russians are just over the cap. I like how in the original that they Cubans got a foot hold of land and dug in and used rpg's to hit tanks and apc's. actually used strategy and tactics.

Their better be some red rifles in this new movie.

I see what you did there!

I'm not the kind of person to make moral arguments about either of those wars being a good or bad idea. I'm content to say from the safety of my arm-chair that if I was running them I would have waged things differently.

But it blows my mind that American's can be so willfully blind as to not see the parallels between movies like this and their own foreign policy.

(I do secretly hope this movie still has a Hind gunship battle. I haven't seen a good Hind flight since 9th Rota!)

Hope your realize that AMERICA did not make this movie, but an industry in the business of making money.
I'd rather watch this than the home and garden network, but that is just me.

they are not old and how do you know they are junk?

Lol.. I'd sell my left nut for a 95.. Hell, I'd sell it for a 97

Looks like they aren't liking their 95's though and are switching to 03's.. They don't like bullpups for some reason.

Originally, the invaders were depicted as originating from China, but has since been changed to North Korea; this is mainly due to concern that a negative depiction of the PLA may result in the Chinese government banning any future MGM films, such as the upcoming 23rd James Bond film (Similar concerns and changes also happened during the development of the videogame Homefront, which itself is also a story about a powerful Communist force invading the United States).

Geez I knew about this remake for about a year now. Its old news. It was suppose to come out earlier but there was obviously delays in production especially when they switched who the enemy was attacking america. Im sure it will be an alright movie but nothing will beat the first one. Such an amazing movie

The thing is who could tell the difference between Chinese and Koreans? They live right next door to each other. It's like Canadians and Americans. Same same.

This might be way off topic but another example is the remake of mad max! They are filming in Africa will be out next summer. I would think mad max is an even bigger cult classic.
