Wondering how different people prepare and what they carry when they are on foot.
Please share what you carry in your pack when you set out for a half days walk or hike into a spot to sit at?

I usually carry a small pack with my tags/license, spare gloves/hat, compass, flagging, cell phone, few more rounds, knife, and a flashlight.

I never leave my truck without my full pack which includes knives, saws, GPS, compass, camera, some spare gloves, hat, etc., first aid kit, several lighters, fire starter, a blanket, multi tool and rope.

Started listing all the stuff I carry, and surprised myself at how much junk I have. Still, it's all there from experience, and it all gets used at some point. Assuming its deer season and colder out;

sweater & jacket that I'll put on when I get to my stand.
Small thermos of tea & some snacks.
2 500ml bottles of water. Sucks to be dogging or dragging a deer and not have it.
gransfors hatchet; never leave home without it.
lightweight nylon tarp, for sitting on to keep my backside dry, or to hide under when it rains.
some rope
couple of small rags, for cleanup.
extra knife, small light thin-blade mora
small pocket size digital camera.
Mini-mag lite & spare batteries.
In my pockets or on my belt, fixed blade knife, compass, spare ammo, firestarter, cell phone and 2-way radio to stay in touch. Licence is in all that mess somewhere too.

Sweater
Hot seat
Socks

Compass
Camera
Small thermos with tea
Bottled water
Couple of sammies and some breakfast bars

Well I don't trek for big game very often, in fact I haven't in years and could count the times I have on one hand but I hunt waterfowl often so in my blind bag goes ammo, camera, I-Kam glasses, gloves, toque, game strap, chokes, choke wrench, needle nose pliers (for removing leg bands, lol) lanyard with duck/goose calls, crow call, bore snake, game carry strap, bottled water, granola bars, sandwich, decoy gloves, spare car keys, wallet.......

for upland I keep it light and simple

water bottle, granola bar, ammo, gloves, toque, wallet, game strap.....

belt pouch: tags, spare ammo, GPS with extra batteries, knife, folding saw, flagging tape, cell phone, lighter, couple of granola bars
For long walks, in the back pack I carry wet wipes, rope, a tarp (mainly for using as a toboggan to drag a kill out with) flashlight, map and compass, basic first aid/emergency stuff, water and something to eat. On my person I carry the Binoculars, a doe call and a rangefinder and of course the rifle.

Gotta be prepared for just about anything where I hunt, usually by myself. Note toilet paper. :)

Grizz

I used to carry paper towel to clean up after field dressing and TP, then I decided wet wipes do the job of both better with less, and if they get wet so what.

Grizz I like the addition of the hip flask ;)

99% of the time I'm in the bush it's by myself.

Modified AR-7 (if I can carry if where I'm at that day)
Belt axe or machette (or similar)
EDC, Victorinox
15m or 30m of rope
Canned good of some sort (also for backup water boiling) with mini stove
Pack of dry chicken soup boullion.
Bunch of tin foil foiled up nice and tiny. (works good for heat reflecting around a small fire, or for wrapping/cooking caught food/fish among other uses)
Some dranks, at least a couple more than I think I'll need.
Poncho
Emergency shelter and blanket.
Fire starters/Magnesium
Change of t-shirt
Camo bandanna
Small pair of Binos
Little stool
Phone
Flashlight/batteries/pack of 10 glow sticks
Roll of wire.

Lots of good ideas, I'll be adding some to what I already carry:

-Axe
-Knife
-Magnesium fire starter (I've used it at the firepit a few time to make sure I could lol)
-Flagging tape
-My Silva Ranger compass I've had since forestry college.
-Snare wire.
-Tags
-T.P.(The good stuff, no need to rough it to much)
-Camera
-Spare ammo
-A bite to eat
-Couple bottles of water

Here is what I carry:
Rifle (of course)
extra mag (4 shells)
Knife on belt
Knife in pack
small touch up stone
GPS
compass
2-way radio (even if solo, wife and family know what channel i use if i don't come back and it can receive weather alerts)
water and food (amount depending on type and planned duration of hunt)
binocs

oh yeah and as someone else mentioned, baby wipes as TP and or hand wash.
tags
hand warmers
spare socks (they can work as extra mitts in a pinch too)
cell phone (in airplane mode so I don't drain battery looking for a signal. I use it as a camera, ballistic calc and a back up gps with topo maps and a compass. I also download google maps sattelite imagery of the area before hand)
paracord
2 large garbage bags (so many uses its not even funny)
fire steel
flashlight
spare batteries (gps and flashlight take same type)

I think that covers it.

Most of you fella's must be very young with very strong backs or bring along a pack mule to carry all that stuff. Myself when walking, I go light, if I can't get it into my coat/pants pockets it stays in camp.

gun with 20 rds
two compasses, small sylva huntsman for general work and my large sylva ranger to settle the agument when I doubt the small one and for precise map work.
toilet paper in a zip lock bag
two little pkge's of kleenex
3 knives. jack knife, lock blade swiss army, and my Puma which only comes out when theres meat on the ground.
water proof matches plus two bic lighters
two 15ft bundles of parachute cord. small, light and very strong.
two plastic empty shot shell cases filled with parafin wax and string. Can be used to start a fire and a half assed candle. very light to carry.
fox 40 whistle
down jacket compressed into a small sack. 4''x12", this is the liner for my hunting coat which I carry in my hood .
clear polycarbinate safety glasses to keep the branches from damageing your eyes
orange or blue flagging tape
couple granola bars
I have never been much for carrying water when its all around me, so using common sense I will drink whats available, plus I think Iam related to a camel as generally don't require alot of water.

If Iam in the canoe I carry my canoe pack up front for weight, in that I have provisions for 3 days in case something happens. plus axes saws etc, maybe the kitchen sink.

If Iam using the ATV which I usually do now because of my heart issues. It is equiped with enough equipment and stuff to either get the moose or deer back to camp or build a small cabin on site and stay until I eat the moose or deer.
