I think everybody owns an old Russian rifle SKS, svt-40, mosin. So does the canadian government have a large cash of ww2 rifles.

yes it is sad the days of cheap non bubba'd Lee-Enfields are over. Just wait eventually the SKS or SVT, or Nagants, will go up in value eventually for ones in the origional configuration. Thought my guess would be about 20 years time for this to take place.

The last canadian surplus guns were inglis high powers. They came from europe. I bought a few of the various inglis hp's that when from inglis to cdn military to european military. Basically un-issued surplus from europe. There was ch contract adjustable sight, ch frame with fixed sight and standard inglis, all with decals, holsters, spare mags and lanyard's.

A large quantity of Canadian materiel (several divisions' worth) was given to Holland and Belgium after the war, financed with US money, on condition that it be replaced with US-pattern materiel.
Ross rifles were given to Britain in 1940.

So what happened to all the lend lease given to the russians over the years? Since they're unloading all their WW2 stuff there's gotta be warehouses full of US goodies.

There was a bunch of Thompson SMG's, but those were cut-up for parts kits to sell in the USA.

I think every third guy at work has a lee enfield in his closet. I have solid information that there are at LEAST 3 on my street. It's a short street!

My Grampa has one. I have one, my uncles have a few, and my Dad had a Ross.

I think the veteran lee enfield has just about reached maximum saturation already. My opinion only of course.

SKS and mosin nagants are everywhere in shops but I only know a couple folks at work with them.

There are still some Turkish, Indian and Pakistani No4 MkI* Longbranches available at some dealers.

Canada hasn't released any surplus that goes bang to the plebes for over 20 years, that I know of. They went along with the UN agreements the PCs and LPCs signed onto and took it one step farther than necessary. They just refused to sell any firearms or ammunition into surplus.

They were willing to give thousands of FNC1 rifles to Castro's regime and dump thousands more into Africa but no way would they release them to law abiding Canadians.

Look at what's happening with the Inglis Hi-Powers. They just kept putting us off, until everyone quit #####ing to them about surplussing them.

They say the pistols are worn out. Hell, most of the Chinese surplus pistols were as close to worn out as they come. They sold out quickly.

It's all smoke and mirrors. Mostly smoke and they're trying to blow it up our asses.

The world has allowed their governments to be placed in the charge of the foxes. It's not surprising the eggs and hens are becoming fewer.

Our surplus rifles were sold to us back in the 50's and 60's.

There's probably a Lee Enfield in one in ten Canadian homes, maybe less. Surplus ammo is all gone, and all the other firearms we used with the exception of our pistols are prohibited.

99% of the FNc1,c2 , 1919 brownings, and sterlings, went to the smelter not Cuba or Africa. the other 1% is being held by the military for museums ,and making trophies ,etc.
