jeez !!! Dear santa !!!

Curious to know who shot with the rifle and whats the accuracy ?

I don't think you should worry with that...

The JRA furniture is just gorgeous...these rifles may not be numbers matching collectables, but if you appreciate a historically accurate refurb and top notch craftsmanship don't think twice about picking one up.

1) The furniture is modern repro stuff with repro stamps.
2) These aren't refurbed sniper rifles. As I have read elsewhere on the net, they are "re-watted" parade rifle actions that were never sniper rifles in service.

They are still nice builds representative of the real deal, but these small points are important when considering whether to purchase one. I think if I bought one, the hi-lux chinese scope would have to go in favor of a real Weaver or Lyman.

1) Fully aware the furniture is repro..I have a JRA Garand...what I was trying to get across is that it is beautifully done exactly as it would have been manufactured originally.

2) except for the furniture my Garand is a refurb..I thought these were the same..I should have said "re-pro".

I'd also probably try to source an original scope..however it would be purely for my own satisfaction as it would do very little for the collectability of these particular rifles...just as sourcing an original USGI sling for my Garand won't make it any more than what it is, a nicely done mismatched collection of re-furb parts. Still happy as hell with it ;)

As far as I know, the receivers and the bolt are original

Dan explained in this thread:
http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?790119-Springfield-1903A4

''They're genuine US military receivers, hand fitted and headspaced with military bolts by a gunsmith for perfect fit, refinished to exact military specs, and paired with a hand-shaped stock. They're the pinnacle of a 1903A4.''

I have fired a total of 9 rounds in three round groups with ammo that I use in my match 30/06.{ 60gr H4831 and 175gr SMK} Use some discretion as it is listed as a max load in some manuals.
Of the three groups fired @ 100mtrs it has fired one three round group as small as just over 1/2 MOA. No load development done as of yet but it shows real potential to be a tack driver despite the 2.5x scope.

wrote to JRA and here is what they replied:

They are newly made stocks with no provision for clips. Clips were found to affect accuracy by putting pressure on the barrel. They do not come on C stocks. These are refinished used original parts and we are picking the best of them.
Thanks,
###Lynn

I guess it makes sense not to have them putting pressure on the barrel. It is a sniper rifle after all and accuracy is what counts the most. The handguards are not to hard to come across, if you want to change them out. I think I'll leave it alone on mine when it comes. I can't wait, I'm going out of my skin.

Me too it make sense but how come the original M1903A4 has it ? They never thought about this detail especially during war time .. ? hmm

I just got my 1903 a4. I got to say I am quite pleased with it. Of all the firearms I have I think this is a contender for one of my favourites. Repo or not it's a nice rifle and the fit and finish is excellent. I can't wait to take it to the range. This is the first firearm I bought from Wanstalls and the service is ecxellent.
