Running Guns.....accross the border

Understood, the real question is why so many dealers say they can't/won't get an item, for example 9mm AR mags, show me one dealer in all of Canada that is bringing these in.

Big fan of Dlask, but there's a huge untapped market for special orders - that was never beyond the reach of the dealers, just not of sufficient interest/profit incentive.

This may prove to be a missed opportunity, but there's always a hungrier dealer out there to meet demand and 2013 will show how big an opportunity that was.

if a company doesn't see a large enough demand why bring it in. They pick items they think they can sell simple as that

That is exactly what the American company(s) are taking advantage of. They have enough of a demand in the states with the much larger population that they can stock these rare and mostly unneeded items. If they sell one here a year they don't are because they probably sell 100s a year down south. The fact is, because one side of the border needs it, they have the desire to stock and sell these items on both sides. Unfortunately for Canadian only dealers, they do not have the population to sell these items to, so they can't stock them.

Do you know any canadian dealer that is sitting on a pile of hard to sell mags?

There's too much duplication in some areas, like Pmags, and too little of everything else. That's why there's always a mad scramble for most product, because it's always in such short supply up here.

If anything this should put pressure on the importer/distributors.....maybe it's time to for the shops to deal directly with the American distributors and cut out the extra markup in Canada.
It's not like we get outstanding no BS warranty service up here by these distributors despite paying more for the goods!

Good post Dlask/Zombie!

One question Dlask. Why two websites? Dlask Arms and deadzombies. Which do you represent? Who should I contact for special orders questions?

I have two websites too, and I'm not even selling things on them!

Having two storefronts makes a lot of sense when you're trying to position yourself in search engine results. It also affords for more specialized presentation.

You might only find the mini-moose and other Dlask customs on the Dlask site, but the Kabar zombie knives are naturally suited to the other storefront.

And yes, Harrier45, not cool man.

Oh, BTW, good on Dlask for accepting the challenge IRunGuns has thrown down...

+1 100% agree. By one dealer stepping up, others will step up. Gone I believe are the days of something being all "tacticool" being super rare. All of the neat, cool stuff is becoming more and more common. If we can appeal to multiple shooting audiences, we can definitely expand our base and gain more and more shooters... and with numbers, we all know comes strength :p

Yea, that kind of got me confused too.

I don't understand why there's two sites, which have different product, what if I want to buy from both sites on the same order/shipping?

Agree on the AR ad, next time send a pm, - I should have been more specific, I meant pinned high capacity 9mm AR mags, the stubbies are great but no good for CQB courses, just too small to handle on the run, etc.

I have apologized to Dlask, and to the moderators for my breach of etiquette and my oversight regarding the AR.15 magazines. Now I apologize to you all as well. The question was posed as to which dealers were carrying these items. My intention was to answer that question only, nothing more.

Since FN refuses to deal with Canadians dealing with a US dealer like Irunguns is my only hope. Finding a US dealer willing to get me one and ship it up to me has been a very discouraging task, Irunguns seemed interested in working with me.

Dlask will have a hard time competing with situations like this.

Dlask, can you get FN shotguns? If so I would love to hear from you.

We buy from all the same US distributors as everyone else.......some of them know us by first names when we call now.

We have not been selling Canadian Glock products. All the glock products we have been selling......are NOT available in Canada. The Canadian Glock products we sell.....come from a Canadian distributor.

Glock worked hard to block other people from bringing their products into Canada, outside of the networks they had set up. Often it's the company that blocks the import and not the government. Some do it for trade reasons, others out of fear of BATF finding some perceived wrongdoing.

That is why we are selling MSAR mags. The amber mags are clear (no extra charge for a window) plus we have black and green ones as well. We feel these are better than PMAGs. They are made of the same material as Steyr AUG mags ($45 retail in the USA). But we are selling them for pretty much PMAG price.

no offence to any Canadian dealers but i cannot wait to see what irunguns will be doing to the prices of firearms. for example, someone has the FS2000 for about 3k . irun can get them for $2400. now i know that you said you guys get them at the same price as the us. but why is it that here in canada a $2400 gun becomes $3000. and why can't our Canadian retailers seem to match prices of irun if you all get them from the same wholesaler? i rather support Canadian companies however i find it hard to justify spending .....probably an extra $400 (after import fees taxes and shipping) on a similar gun from another company. if prices become comparable to that of irun, i would go out of my way to buy from a Canadian Dealer.

We are selling the Sig Sauer Patrol rifle for $1975. MSRP is $1800. When you take into account the US State Dept fee, export fees and shipping.......we are pretty close to MSRP.......Same goes with our Adams Arms uppers and our DAC/Adams Arms carbines. You can buy a direct gas system that fouls and kills your gun from Daniel Defense for $1640 or you can buy one of our SBR's using the Adams Arms Piston uppers for $1675 AND support a Cdn Made Product (lower) at the same time......they come with Magpul BUIS sights and stocks but MSAR clear mags (we are killing the PMAG monopoly). Any questions?

Stepping up to the plate

If there is demand....it will be market price. If you are the only guy.....it will be more but yes....we can bring anything in that is legal.

Alright, I want to buy Colt, new manufacture, 5/32 pinned 9mm AR mags, another CGN'er recently went stateside and saw them retail for $50 each.

I'd buy 12, pay all the taxes and duties. I'll pay you a deposit today, no messing around.

Since the current market value in Canada for a used one is around $300, I'm betting you could easily sell 50+ in the blink of an eye.

I'll even make you a $100 bet that if you bring in 100 and are still sitting on them after one month of being listed on CGN I'll pay up.

I'm waiting to source them with the Irun... sponser but I'll gladly give you my money instead, so please let me know what you can do, all the best.

I think the only thing Canadian dealers may want to be worried about is stock on hand. Stuff seems to sell very quickly here and take a long time to be replenished...not the case down south... if it is available at IRUN and the price is similar if not cheaper and if no one here has it or has any idea when they may have it...my money will go south. I would much rather spend my money locally but I get frustrated by the lack of stock and the long waits for items to come in!
