My WRAS 3 gun match video

Yeah, I've seen the shell vest but not a fan of it. This one looks a lot more flexible. I just emailed Carbon Arms to see if they ship to Canada.

Update: Just got a reply from Carbon Arms and they will ship to Canada, no probs. :)

Interesting... I will have to shoot with my 3x3 and 4x4 until I know more about the ins and outs of it before going to another platform though.

That was a very fast effective method of reloading indeed! Amazing! Must take alot of practice to get that two shell at once thing mastered.

Wow, I'm so glad I stumbled upon that video ! Thank you so much for sharing this :)

this is exactly what I would love to do, rifle, shotgun and pistol. Surprisingly, I'm aiming for a very similar setup as yours

Glock17 (waiting on ATT yay)
Mossy 590a1 (going for the SPX with bayonet, why ? because !) - still need to convince myself to spend 800$ there haha
And the rifle I'm not so sure yet, I might go dumb and run a 54r for the motherland !

I picked a bunch of ammo so far (about 500 9mm, 100 non-corrosive 54r, a 880 crate of 54r) and for shotgun I went with Winchester Heavy game Load shotshells, 2 shot (12 gauge, 2 and 3/4 inch, 3 inch was 3 times as expensive !)

Thanks to you, I now have a path for my research :)

Cheers friend

Thanks.
defictonde, you wanna get the big box stuff shotgun shells from Walmart. #4 is great. As for the rifle, you can pick up a norinco for like 700$ or something. I also saw a thread on CGN about the new s&w m&p15 which is supposed to start selling in Canada for less than a grand (they hope). I'll bet that's pretty nice.
Magnum PI, I just included mag changes in the video because they make more interesting footage than shooting at distant targets ;) they're 10 rd magazines (which isn't 30 I know) which is the same as the 10 rd mags I'm used to shooting out of pistols so it works ok for me. Plus if we were shooting 30 rounders we'd get through every stage without changing mags so we would be testing that essential skill :)

I have to go to walmart to pick some random stuff up, I'll check the hunting section, #4 shot in a big box, I assume the 10x25 packs ? I'll see if I can swing the change lol, might have to wait. I still have to buy that 590a1 ! They're out of stock everywhere where I've seen them cheap-ish

Just curious, what are the regulations about muzzle direction? Here in Ontario one would have gotten several Dairy Queen certificates. Are the rules more relaxed at that club, or Alberta in general?
Thanks.

Standard 180 degree arc down range. The one exception that was made clear was the permission to sling a safetied rifle on one stage that involved a straight transition. The muzzle did point at the ground left and rear of the shooter. Competitors standing by were standing to the rear and to the right of the shooter.

What about horizontal? Are there limits?

180 degrees. Or do you mean vertically? Dorsnt matter. Still 180 degrees (90 straight up to 90 straight down).
We don't allow the muzzle to rise above the berms, down to the ground is OK, but above the upper edge of the berms results in a DQ. Perhaps this is just because there is housing in the area, a shot over the berm could travel close enough to a house to cause concerns.

Thats not everywhere in Ontario is it?? Ive never heard of that in ON. Ive heard of european countries having that god aweful rule. How are you supposed to do a proper reload keeping your eyes downrange past the gun?

4 ranges where I have shot matches all have that rule. They are all in South Western ON. Break the berm and get a Dairy Queen certificate. And yet in the storage area long guns are stored muzzle up, but cleared of course.

Your gun should never point over the berm, ESPECIALLY during reloads. Try it, it won't slow you down. My concern would be the RO's that make the calls as this would be harder than calling the 180. Judgement calls suck!

But if you could do it just as fast and reliable without pointing over the berm, that would be good, right? I'll show you next time we're out.
If you get a chance, search for some youtube footage of Eric G, great example. Some of the other guys, not so much :)

hmm, trying to think back on it and I think every ipsc match I've been to the reloads have been side of pistol facing shooter, muzzle downrange and up (effectively clearing berms)
