375 Ruger Factory ammo

This is getting way too redundant for me and besides, as wapitiwhacker said the op wasn't interested in the H&H in the first place. I just like wringing Gatehouse's tail when he uses the irritating term "THE NEW KING" 'cause we all know who the real KING of the 37s is and it's 100 years old.
You boys have fun I'm outta here!

I am not "hurt" lol get real.

The fact remains, it's a great cartridge. However I think what is absolutely great is the new Ruger rifle itself, THAT is what makes this round so appealing. And it is North American to boot!! The cartridge itself has nothing to offer over the H&H that means much, the rifle has made the cartridge. However Ruger with the 204, 375 and 416 is in to something that I believe will give the company a good boost. We are going to see many wildcats from these, and Ruger will be offering more calibers no doubt. They make fantastic firearms, it's nice to see more people buying them. IMHO opinion the rifle deserves more attention than the cartridge in this case. I still don't think it has a chance at removing the 375 ouch and ouch from the throne, especially when the 375 H&H outsold the Ruger 375 this year by a large margin, and I mean total, everywhere, all makes of rifles.

I realize you can not come up with stuff like this yourself, and get angry then lash out. It's no big deal, I have to deal with people like you almost daily, it's part of my job.

In the end, it doesn't matter which one had an edge, after all its not like we are forced to choose one or the other. We can own both, even in the same platform if we choose. And all that matters is that is performs as expected and makes the person holding the rifle happy.

No, I want to know why revered people like Gatehouse are saying it is so superior, I stated mostly opinions. If there is a real reason why it is better, I want to know. I heave a lot to learn, and many here have a lot to teach me, but opinions don't make things fact. I might be looking for something that doesn't exist.

The fact that one outsells the other, doesn't mean it is better. Places like Walmart prove that fact.

Gold River on Vancouver Island. Not too many guys over here with one...

Cheers!

:)That name brings back memories. I spent a few years there logging in the mid 60s for Tahsis Co. Pulling rigging on a steel spar on sides in the Muchalat Lake area and on the steep sidehills in the Upana area memories flood back to mind:). ;)Still have my hardhat from those days as well as a pair or Pierre Paris caulk boots I purchased on my last week there. They still come in handy for hunting in timber around here.

No schit! Especially after he said in his first post he wanted an H&H! Then said he had an FN Mauser that he was going to build into an H&H! :)

Same questions, zero comprehension...And SOOOOO much info out there already. ;)

An FN Mauser makes a good 375 H&H or as one fella did also a good 375 Ruger...

Of course it does. And cleftwynd said he was going to build one. But he kept asking the same questions, over and over...

Awww......so sorry we had to point it out to you many times and you still don't get it. :(

The 375 is the NEW KING of the 375's. It's clear. The H&H had a GREAT run but now we have an updated cartridge that delivers all the H&H can and more. Ruger has sold more 375 Ruger rifles in a few years than H&H ever sold 375 H&H rifles in 100 years!

A cartridge like the H&H would be laughed at if introduced today. Nobody is interested in a superfluous belt or a tapered cartridge that adds nothing to feeding and extraction.

The NEW KING has put 375 rifles in the hands of many, many hunters that would have never bought a H&H. The NEW KING was introduced and they said "heck, I like that idea! I don't need to be encumbered by some Euro Trash idea of what a mid bore should be, we got our own schit going here!! And they have bought into it, for good reason. Which is why the NEW KING will not fizzle out. It is the FUTURE of .375's

ALL HAIL THE NEW KING!

Having read all of your tripe I think referring to the 375 Holland as " Euro Trash " is the ultimate in stupid, ignorant, childish remarks that a grown man could come out with.
If you should be so lucky as to live to be a hundred you will never see any Ruger - named cartridge equal the reputation of the 375 Holland & Holland either in print or on the game fields of the world.

Good lord wading through pages of prattle
Well an argument could be made that my 375 Ultra is the New king made off the 404jefferies case non-Belted inherently accurate and has been proved to be one of the most accurate of the .375 cartridges leaves the case capacity of the Ruger far behind and destroys the Ruger ballistics. ALL HAIL THE NEW KING OF BEASTS THE 375 REMINGTON ULTRA MAG RECOIL SENSITIVE BEWARE !! LOL

You are of course entitled to your opinion. But the fact is, the H&H is a 100 year old European designed cartridge that's only real appeal to North American hunters is nostalgia and that it was a 375 that was available to them.

Now they have an option that has set the gun world upside down. North Americans (who make up the majority of the hunting gun buyers) have an option that works for THEM, not what some Euro Trash gun maker decided a 375 rifle should look like. Lots of gun makers have realized the appeal of Rugers new offering and have been making "Alsakan" style rifles in the NEW KING or the old H&H. They probably do the H&H for the same reason others swear by the H&H- nostalgia and pride. They don't want to admit Ruger came up with a better mouse trap.

Over and over I see some hunters resist new cartridges. It's funny...They all enjoy new optics, new clothing that makes them more comfortable, new rangefinders that make longer shots easier, GPS, new 4x4 trucks, rifles that are more suited to north American hunting needs than African or European, stainless rifles, Macmillan or laminate stocks ,better knives that are less expensive....The list goes on forever. Hunters like new and better stuff. But a new CARTRIDGE??? BLASPHEMY!!

We all saw it when the WSM's came out. It was more of the same. People WANTED a reason to hate them. But the WSM's have established themselves just fine. Most of the haters of anything new have found other things to hate. I see this on so many threads about the NEW KING. People want to hate it. They put up imaginary road blocks to tell us how it will fail. It's like they have some sort of vested interest in the H&H cartridge.

Here is another NEWSFLASH- You couldn't by H&H ammo all over the world when it was introduced 100 years ago, either. It's probably easier to get 375 Ruger ammo in Africa now than getting H&H ammo 100 years ago in Africa...

None of us are going to see how the Ruger took over the H&H in 2108, 100 years from now. But we will see how the Ruger ends up dominating .375 sales for the next few decades.

The 375 RUM offers lots of extra horsepower and there is no denying that. Problem is, most people don't want that horsepower. They want H&H performance in a compact package, like the NEW KING. The sales records have reflected that.

My opinion is that the 375 RUM is best as Boomer uses it- giant bullets, moderate velocity, huge whack! :)

Rofl at our sigs..... This is getting to be priceless, lol

Btw, I own several WSM's, my current favourite cartridge and rifle is my 325 WSM chambered X-Bolt stalker even though I have an 8mm rem mag in blue and walnut. I love new toys and technology. Especially wildcats, I have had wildcats that are now factory offerings almost everywhere. I am not some "fudd" (I find that moniker ridiculous), even though I do like pretty walnut and deep bluing. Your guess as to who and what I am is way off the mark, as mine is yours probably.

I am glad you have such a passion for the 375 Ruger, either that or your family invented it or has some serious investment into it.

God help anyone that insults your loved ones!!!

It doesn't matter to me one way or another what you hunt with, or if you choose H&H or NEW KING to be your .375. It doesn't affect me at all. Although some H&H lovers seem to think if you chose a NEW KING you would somehow be betraying the Cult of the H&H.

I wasn't directing my comments to you specifically, more to the many that have got their panties in a bunch over the NEW KING, on many threads on this forum. You could search them if you wanted to.

It's rare that anyone insults my loved ones, but if they did, I expect I would speak quite directly to them. Shouldn't be a surprise.
