King Optics

well alot of people i know are having trouble with them, although its a hassle free exchange, but the guy that makes then lives about 30 mins from me and personally, i wouldn't buy one, but thats just me

nfortunately that was not my experience ( the hassle free exchange ) I posted my experience as true as possible for others to consider, I have read, researched and found out a lot of things that I probably should have looked into before buying one last year.

Makes you wonder how they stay in business. And you have to wonder just how many scopes they've sold. Mind you, the profit margin on these would probably make your eyes water- sell three and you've likely paid for the entire shipment.

There is no doubt in my mind, that these scopes are made for under $50. The rest is gravy. Even the $47 Bushnell that comes on the 770 will hold zero better than the $1500 King Optics.

Nick is funding a large retirement fund, at the expense of the Canadian outdoorsmen.

In other breaking news it appears as though they have updated their website.
h ttp://www.kingoptics.com/ Buy a scope get a free "king optics" life-jacket! :p
I'm hung over and bored. This thread always brings me much amusement.

From the Website: Only without the handgrenade. Not sure how that got in there. But it fits.

WARNING: Beware of counterfeit and immitation. Illegally, some scope manufactures are trying to copy our
riflescopes and our KOC reticles by placing lines and circles on their scopes, They are promoting them as
long range riflescopes and are offered to consumers at bargain flea market prices. If you come across such a
deal you are getting an immitation ROLEX.

:onCrack:

Such a "high quality" product but can't even spell imitation? Maybe that's their legal way out. Ohhh our mistake as you can see we can't spell. We meant to say "ROLOX".

I hope they release a Tactical Model. That way they can claim the fluted body is high speed low drag. :slap:

It is said, "You can't polish a turd" but it seems you can flute one.

:stirthepot2: Keep going, folks. We'll have more posts than any "Bear defence" thread pretty soon.

:) Stuart

Haha I still can't stop laughing at his sh1tty website. I don't even want to post a link and give this guy any more credibility. A few zinger quotes:

King Optics Long range reticle KOC II is designed and engineered to precisely calculate
trajectory, range find, compensate wind speed and angle position. All factors for long
range shooting were considered and applied to ensure long range accuracy.
All calculations are based to the speed of the bullet. Caliber and bullet weight = Speed

No Calculations needed. No turrets to turn or Estimate distances. Just AIM and SHOOT

And then he has a crappy blurry/fuzzy picture of the useless reticle and writes: For Security reasons all the calculations shown in this blueprint have been modified. Dude - are you KIDDING me?

Does this guy really believe his own crap? Or is he just a con-man? I have my suspicions about which... unreal. Any fool who spends a DIME with this clown deserves to get kicked in the junk. AND WHAT THE EFF IS WITH THE FLUTING ???? You want LESS contact area with your rings? Maybe they're speed-flutes... this guy is a JOKER of the highest order!

So are Helgie and Ryan being duped? What's the story on them promoting this product if its so sketchy?

Probably just got paid to advertise the product. King does seem to advertise a lot on WildTV - at the very least it might mean perks like Helgie & Ryan promotional spots.

And the flutes are speed flutes - they make the scope go faster.

holy crap, 1/2" groups at 25m! serious zero retention there. I'm glad to know it works better as a blunt object than a rifle scope though. The #### reticule is not impressive...1:09 of the video sums it up pretty well

It drives me nuts when people call a reticle a "wreck-tickle". You'd think Ryan Kohler from WildTV would know a little better than that. I've seen these scopes up close and personal. Nothing special. It seems like 80% of hunting products being produced is all marketing BS but there are always the idiots who see it on tv and go buy it the next day.

There is a reason anyone with any smarts puts little to no value on what is promoted or produced by Wild TV, this is just 1 more glaring example of TV producers making money from advertising junk and some schmoe WILL be dumb enough to buy the product given what the 2 moron actors claim.
I guess that is why I do not watch much TV, the insults to my intelligence are just not worth the time wasted.

Here's a phrase that seems to fit. "Paid Promotional Endorsement".

I particularly liked the shower head that appeared in one of the rotating 'windows' at the beginning of that vid. Pretty important to be clean and all, but I can't help but wonder, would I be cleaner, if the shower head was fluted?

:D

Sorry. Just feeling the need to beat a dead horse for the exercise.

Cheers
Trev

Where do I sign up to be one of them paid promoters, anyways?

from the new "new products page"

quote/***COMING SOON***

lol what!!!!!!!!!!!! you want to put the weight of a camera on your scope?? then again I have never tried the scope and never will unless I win the lottery, just to do a review

Great thread this, just got Wild TV and saw their ads, was interested with the made in Canada bit but after looking at their site and seeing this thread I guess MIC means they put some stickers on the box. Figured there was a Can con law covering this claim, guess not.
