So, why do I see a few postings in EE for pmags selling for $100 each...is it some kind of prank? hmm, its not April fools day yet...
Last I saw, they are $22 a piece at the stores...
WTF is going on??!!

See any of news from the US? AR15 pattern rifles and magazines for them are now virtually unobtainable. Since PMAGs are made in the US, Canada has probably seen their last shipment of them for at least a year, so Canadian stock will be limited to what is currently on-hand. Some sellers take that as a signal to raise the price, since they won't be restocking for a long time.

It's the Obama Reality kicking in.....

My buddy in the ATF down South says the rumors are they will be stopping all exports soon to civilians...only LEO/MIL in the future........

Yup, looks like the shortages we saw trickle up here post '08 election are gonna happen all over again, but looks like it will be way worse.

Doesn't make sense, why choke US manufacturers from foreign sales since its US domestic laws that are the current topic of discussion this is absolute rumour mill.

Might just be the finance degree comin out... But isn't it a little premature for a 500% increase in "value"? It's not only going to be mags that are hard to get. You don't see AR's on the EE going for $6000-10,000 a piece yet do you?

I fully understand the whole supply and demand concept, believe me, but posting PMAGs for $100 is only going to cause an even earlier start to the inevitable price hikes!

Common guys we gotta stick together during these times!

I'm really concerned, since I have two builds on the go, barely enough parts to finish one build, and no mags for either.

Raisin the price of a $20 PMAG to $100 isn't compensating for the supply and demand during these unfortunate recent events, it's trying to take advantage, and make a quick buck...

Again, just my two bits

It is all stupidity that will end soon. It might take the EE a few years to catch on.

I couldn't buy a 5rd .22lr magazine from the states for a rifle that has been out of production for 50 some years because it was a 'restricted from export'(or whatever) item.

Given that you've been here for a while I'd assume you'd understand anything related to firearms is subject to an export license. The rumour that Liebermeister said is that anything under their own Assault Weapons Ban come January would only be exportable to LEO/MIL. Really doesn't make sense, considering they've recently relaxed export restrictions on SBR's, muzzle devices, and things marked 5.56.

Yep, requiring an export license for a 5rd .22lr seems pretty crazy to me.
I didn't know anything was relaxed, what is marked 556 that's exported? Are rifles marked that OK now?

A lot of the AR-15's etc, hasn't been an issue for a couple years look at all the Knights and Daniel Defense guns coming in.

Figures. I got a su16 marked .223 and paid extra for it!
I hope it continues to be relaxed, but if it tightened up again I would not be surprised. After all, it doesn't have to make sense.

Since some states in the US already have mag capacity limits in place, like California, I don't see why Pmags will be restricted from civilians if they're pinned.

Also, we already get a lot of Leo/Mil only items from the US, such as AimPoint/EoTech and Magpul, so I don't see why Canada would be unable to get any more supply, if Magpul refuses to sell to US civilians.

Politicians in the US are not counting the NRA out, this won't be an easy ban.

Now there's someone trying to sell 8 PMAGs for 500 bucks on the EE. I'm in the market for one or two, but not willing to pay more than $10 dollars over what they are worth, so I offered $30 or one, think that's reasonable?
