just picked some up anyone use them before or know the distance needed to be able to see them? how well do they compare to regular FMJ?

Yeah tracers as far as I know are prohibited. Like so many other stupid prohibitions in Canada.

I thought Lever's tracer was taken off the shelf (Not confiscated) because it did not get proper approval (as opposed to being BANNED OUTRIGHT)

Well of COURSE I've got to get my word in! What kind of "crusader" would I be otherwise? :p

You don't know very much then. Tracers have NEVER EVER been prohibited in Canada.
Check your facts before making such statements. This has been discussed ad nauseum and your belief is incorrect.

Sort of. The Explosives Act prohibits ANY explosive until the government says its ok. If its not on the List of Authorized Explosives it is generally not lawful. This concept is unfamiliar to most gun owners who only know some firearms law in which guns are either legal or not, based on specific and usually easy-to-define criteria. Explosives are a completely different ball of wax and the problem is gun owners look only to OICs prohibiting incendiary, explosive, etc. and think that's the only rules regarding ammo. Sadly, it's not.

There is that better?

Im genuinely curious. Do you search "all open forums" daily for the word "tracer"? Im yet to see a thread that mentions tracers on this forum (in any section, not just ammo) without your post within 24h of someone saying "tracer". This kind of dedication is admirable.
Or perhaps you're one of those computer savvy guys that set up an alert or something to notify you everytime someone says "tracer". This would save you a lot of work in providing overzelaous LEO's with "ammunition" to charge gun owners. Im sure they appreciate your efforts.
I wonder if you stop here. Wouldnt surprise me if you were spamming every police station, fish and game offices and even shooting range officials with this stuff. After all, its only once every few days that someone posts "tracer" on CGN and that leaves you a lot of free time.

150m plus hmm looks like i need to find a longer range to shoot them at then. also picked them up at one of the gun shows Orangeville I think it was.

I was biting my tongue as I posted above! :)
I so wanted to say "Stand by for AK in 3..., 2..., 1...,"
All in good humour, of course :)

You know, the more derision and rage I get simply for correcting a misconception the more I want to do it. It's amusing to watch you guys foam at the mouth every time my moniker pops up. I can hear the collective eyes rolling before I even hit submit post.

Except you tootall, at least someone gets me! ;)

Im glad that i gave you another excuse to continue your campaign, but i really dont think it was needed. You have posts in EVERY SINGLE tracer thead on CGN already. What else are you gonna do? Start posting about it in "9mm vs .45" and "Can i bring ammo from USA?" threads?

Nah, tracer is enough. Shall we make it official and become CGN Arch Enemies? We could make sig lines or even better, ask a mod to give us custom user titles!

On second thought that's venturing into personal attacks. Could I just get a title of "Tracer Crusader"? Tootall, make it so! ;)

You don't know very much then. Tracers have NEVER EVER been prohibited in Canada.

CBSA won't allow them to be imported. That's in a sense prohibiting them. Most CFO's don't like them and you can't take them hunting, that's for sure. Almost all ranges don't allow them either.

Quoted from the CBSA website: "Note that tracer, armour-piercing and similar military cartridges are prohibited under Canadian law." - http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publications/pub/bsf5044-eng.html

Found as indicated under the "Ammunition" section.

So obviously conflicting information.

You're on, Baby!
I'll ask Admin right now.
