H&k g36

Any one know who arshooter works for? I am not about to accept accusations of refering others to illegal activity on these boards or anywhere. Kindly pm me, as it certainly something the retailer ought to know about. Employees falsely accusing potential customers of illegal gun trade is just not acceptable. Thanks in advance.

I take issue with implying I am referring to any illegal activity whatsoever. To accuse me of such just because you don't know where or how to source a g36 other than on gunnutz of FN is irresponsible at best. I would ask that you retract your accusation. I have no obligation to answer your question, my lack of obligation does not warrant your comments. This ends all our dialogue, and quickly.

I had no intent to offend, but honestly I couldn't figure out what you meant by "Think outside the retail box and you will get what you can afford" other than buying from "alternate" sources (from movie companies who are selling off equipment or from Police agencies, in violation of end user certificates and/or conditions on export permits... etc). Although neither would necessarily be a violation of Canadian law, these are hardly legitimate sources.

I will gladly retract my comment and apologize for them should you provide information on how to obtain, by legitimate means, a G36 for import, and at a reasonable price (as that was how this whole thread got started).

However, you have made it clear that you do not wish to share this information, which is fine... nobody can force you to... but don't throw a hissy fit when people call you out on not being able to back up what you've said.

Breath folks. I love the smell of Flecktarn and G36 in the morning!

Time out. Calm down guys. Why's everyone gotta always fight and argue on CGN? We all know HK has some rediculous policies. We also know that HK's are highly sought after both because they generally make a good battle tested product and because we see them in video games and movies all the time. And yes, in my opinion, HK's are overpriced compared to a lot of other firearms. But, so are some others. And yes, $10 000 or more for a G36 is frigging rediculous but, to an HK collector it may be worth it. The bottom line is, like already stated, firearms, or anything for that matter, are worth what someones willing to pay for them. Period. If you want it and got the money then buy it. If you can find it cheaper somewhere else them buy it there. If you cant afford it and like to whine then buy something else or shut your mouth. Sorry, but it needed to be said.

Keep in mind, the German government has EXTREMELY limiting export policies. NO german gun company can sell a gun based on a military rifle. Which is why the MR223 had to have the pin locations different than a Mil Spec AR15, because the German government wouldn't approve it. The G36 would NEVER be allowed unless they heavily modified the SL8 or made an entirely new gun or something, and then it wouldn't be exportable to the USA. Instead, they built a plant in the US to produce MR556's and MR762's, thats a huge step for a company to do.

As someone who has owned a number of G36s I'll say honestly that there is a disappointment factor associated with them (same with the UMP). Light, reliable, cool looking, yes! But, they don't feel like they are worth $8000+ when you shoot and handle them, with the horrible trigger and the plastic feel. The G36C is the only model that I ever thought came close to justifying the price, and its the only G36 I kept.

It's different than the experience of shooting a Swiss Arms, where the hardware just exudes quality and attention to detail. Shooting my SAN rifles I think, "damn, that's a good gun.". Shooting my G36s I think, "huh, did I really lay out $9K for that?".

I'm very fortunate to be in a financial position where I can buy and try the various HK unobtanium. But, the Swiss Arms line is superior in practically every way.

The G36 series is only worth between $1200 to $1500 per rifle as is. Great rifle in the big picture for huge military contracts, but it has lost much of it's appeal in the last 7 years. With all the necessary upgrades that are needed in it I would say $2500 but there would be a whole host of upgrades needed, pistol grip for one thing, rails. If it came closer to what Latvia did to it. KevinB mentioned a few things he would have done to it a while back which would give a great boost to the G36 series rifle. Definitely a different trigger for sure. KAC RAS would be welcome, new barrel for sure, and there are a few other problem of the zero shift happening with the gun, from what i remember.

LAV talks about it TACARMS DVD he sells, can't remember which one, but i have it in there.

For people spending the money on one here in Canada, if you are a collector then i understand, otherwise give your head a shake. If you have money to blow then I guess yeah go for it...

Resurrecting an old thread but recently learned that a brand new G36 from HK Germany costs almost $3000 dealer cost , so I guess you have to buy a boatload to get them for the previously stated $1200 -$1500
Also current German End Use Certificates no longer allow sales to U.S class 3 dealers even if they have a demo letter and the end use is L.E.
So I assume its doubtful we will see any date codes from 2012 onwards unless there are some EUC violations by foreign governments.

When I read that unit price (back on HK Pro) was probably back from the 90's when they were initially released, I'm sure if you got 30,000+ of them you could get a solid unit price on them though! :p

ETA

As per above! :p

Wikipedia tells me the police of East Timor get G36s from Germany, I wonder what kind of bribe would make them forget their end user agreement and export them to Canada LOL. Obviously I am joking and don't condone bribes, just for the record.
