illegal to use butlers creek 25 rounds mag at the range

If the one round at 50 applies to you ask how it applies to every other form of firearm coming on to the property.I can't see every member at the club loading one round, firing and loading another round over and over. Something doesn't make sense. If everyone isn't treated the same quit the club and move on. I quit going to the club I use to belonged to because every time I went some "new" member was telling me how it was.I'd been going there for 20 plus years. Had a new member(less than a year)who just got his handgun permit and he was appointed as a range officer???? Same crap. Making up rules as he went along and a pile of attitude.

Club level RULES...are NOT LAWS!!!

Find a new club...they are doing nothing but hurting the sport and turning away people.

The club I belong to here in Timmins has simple rule's for the outdoor range. The one I like it's open 24/7, bring your own genny to power up the light's.

Priciest? You gotta be kidding me! That's real cheap! Cheapest in Ontario-land is $250 annual + the another $250-500 for initiation. Prices quickly go up the closer you get to Toronto. $600-$800 is not unheard of. And there is a club that sells shares, if you can get them. These days, they go for $3000 and up and you still have to pay your annual dues!!!

No im not kidding you.. i didn't taught i would have to specify that its the priciest (AROUND WHERE I LIVE). I am not going to include any range from vancouver to ontario since i live in Montreal.. or take a plane to go shoot.. or drive 6 hours to Toronto to shoot either.

Where i live, the other options are half that price. Farnham, Maska, to name a few.

With those annual fees, it makes me glad I'm living where I live. $55 annual fee and open pretty much 24/7 with the range officer being yourself and less than 100 members. 95% of the time your there alone.

Why the hell would a club make up a rule like that!? I really can't wrap my head why they felt it necessary to impose such a ridiculous rule.

Geebus, what a crock. It's rimfire, show him the regs and ask him to tell you where he thinks it's "illegal".As for a local club rule, that's just plain stupid. Take your money (and completely legal 25 rd BC mags) elsewhere.

If the QC CFO has imposed such a restriction, it may well have the force of law. IIRC, ranges for restricteds must be authorized by the CFO & authorization may have such a condition. Nonetheless, it makes absolutely no sense.

GTF out of there. Ranges like that must be put out of business. Find some crown land that is away from population and shoot NR there (clean up after yourself). Look for proper range for restricted's (if applicable).

I've been a member for a few years now at l'Acadie and it seems like it keeps getting worse year after year. Not only do their prices keep going up, they always seems to come up with new stupid rules. The only reason why i'm still a member there is because it's the closest (by far) range frome where i live, but with the way things are getting there, i feel like this year is going to be my last.

One of the other stupid rule nobody mentioned yet is the one against rapid fire. When shooting, you have to wait a few seconds between each shots. Complete BS if you ask me.

The application of these rules will depend on the range officer in charge. Some of them are actualy OK and won't bother you, but the majority of them are just complete idiots (like the one who told you shooting with your 25 rnds mags was illegal, i'm pretty sure who it was and that guy probably has the same IQ as a sausage)

Anyways, i would suggest to start looking for another range, that's what i'm doing. L'Acadie keeps brigning back the fact that they were the shooting location for the 1976 Olympics and there's a reason for that, they haven't done any good since then.

Sad to hear about dumba## rules. Power trip for the executive for sure. At the outdoor range here the range officer did the video of my Ruger / Tommy gun drum mag dump. His comment was "cool" Find another range. Would be interesting to see range membership costs and distance driven to indulge in our sport. Outdoor range I belong to is $ 50 year and is 15 min from home. No per visit fees, no extras for restricted. Paper targets only, there is a gong in the berm about 220 yards. Very well cared for property.
