Olympic Arms Announces New York State Sales Policy

Olympic Arms Announces New York State Sales Policy
by Editor
12. February 2013 18:25

Olympic Arms is a staunch believer in and defender of the Constitution of the United States, and with special attention paid to the Bill of Rights that succinctly enumerates the security of our Divinely given Rights. One of those Rights is that to Keep and Bear Arms.

Legislation recently passed in the State of New York outlaws the AR15 and many other firearms, and will make it illegal for the good and free citizens of New York to own a large selection of legal and safe firearms and magazines. We feel as though the passage of this legislation exceeds the authority granted to the government of New York by its citizens, and violates the Constitution of the United States, ignoring such SCOTUS rulings as District of Columbia v. Heller - 554, U.S. 570 of 2008, McDonald v. Chicago - 561 U.S. 3025 of 2010, and specifically the case of United States v. Miller – 307 U.S. 174 of 1939.

Due the passing of this legislation, Olympic Arms would like to announce that the State of New York, any Law Enforcement Departments, Law Enforcement Officers, First Responders within the State of New York, or any New York State government entity or employee of such an entity - will no longer be served as customers.

In short, Olympic Arms will no longer be doing business with the State of New York or any governmental entity or employee of such governmental entity within the State of New York - henceforth and until such legislation is repealed, and an apology made to the good people of the State of New York and the American people.

If the leaders of the State of New York are willing to limit the right of the free and law abiding citizens of New York to arm themselves as they see fit under the Rights enumerate to all citizens of the United State through the Second Amendment, we feel as though the legislators and government entities within the State of New York should have to abide by the same restrictions.

This action has caused a division of the people into classes: Those the government deems valuable enough to protect with modern firearms, and those whose lives have been deemed as having less value, and whom the government has decided do not deserve the right to protect themselves with the same firearms. Olympic Arms will not support such behavior or policy against any citizen of this great nation.

Olympic Arms invites all firearms manufacturers, distributors and firearms dealers to join us in this action to refuse to do business with the State of New York. We must stand together, or we shall surely fall divided.

Sincerely,

Brian Schuetz
President
Olympic Arms, Inc.

Now, I know some of you are thinking: who would buy an Olympic anyway? :p

This is great. I hope more companies start cutting off state governments of their guns and ammo. Then they can see how poor their decisions are as violence continues and they are forced to arm their cops with swords to fight knife battles.

Barrett drops a few local police agencies, Olympic cuts out of NY... this is putting money where their mouths are, and no doubt costing them some sales. Good to see. Hope other companies follow suit. This is a much better measure than some of the suggestions of moving a company out of a particular state, putting honest people out of work (and you gotta know that 99% of the people working at any gun manufacturer are pro 2A, or at least don't believe that guns jump off tables and mow-down classrooms).

NY will learn nothing from this directly, but once their forces start running short on things, maybe their voices will get attention. But only if many more companies join in.

This is what all gun and ammo manufactures have to due, cut off the states and cities who pass anti-gun legislation. It would be nice to see Colt, Ruger and Smith & Wesson join in as they have all be an outed as political 'targets'.

Got respect manufactures that take this kind of stance. There own interests are at stake with the passing of this kind of legislation, but the spin off reaction taken by these companies still may have a positive effect for the average Joe down there. It will only work if all the manufactures create an association to combat this type of legislation collectively.

Maybe your next AR should be an Olympic?

I highly doubt Colt will cut off anyone other than civilians. They can't be seen pissing on government bodies if they want to keep their US military M4 contracts.

Bushmaster should get in on this action though, that or at least sue for defamation and slander. The way the media drags that company's name through the mud, it's a wonder they haven't moved on this yet.

This is cheap political points for Olympic Arms. Do you honestly think and government agency - state, municipal, or local do any business at all with Olympic? Honestly, I can't see it. Most of their product is junk to begin with.

Seems like LaRue has made a similar, albeit weaker, statement. I've also heard Magpul had also made some kind of press release about this, but can't find any link to back this up.

The point is: That these companies civilian sales have gone through the roof, I don't think they'll be to eager to bite the hands that feed them. Doing nothing could be seen in the same light. When the same manufactures didn't see the need to help us out with our 'little' problems up here through the 90's, I was personally choked. I realize that Canadian sales amount to very little to them, but to have their own U.S. customers boycott them because of their viewed lack of support. Well, that could be the death blow to that particular company...

No I doubt that LE uses any of Olympics products, but it is a good start and one other companies should follow. If all of the manufacturers used this policy maybe the Fuhrer down south would consider changing his rules. I think that all companies should stop selling and supplying Gov't with firearms and ammo and see what they decide to do.

We can pi$$ on Olympic for this, and cast aspersion on their motives, or we can cheer them on for being yet another voice, however small, standing up to the gun-banners.

I'll stand with Olympic Arms.

I wonder how many businesses could do this without cutting their own throats?
Take Glock for example. They sell a lot of product to both gov't and private buyers.
Could they affort to alienate either?
If the gov't legislates away the civilian market, institutional sales will be the only ones left.
When the British owners (at the time) of S&W made the deal with the Clinton White House to start implementing Slick Willie's gun control sales restrictions, the loss of civilian sales just about put them out of business.
The US civilian market will punish businesses, and has a long memory.
