Been planning on getting some handguns for awhile, right now getting some surplus soviet Tokarev TT-33's but ultimately wanted to get a 9mm or two as well. Had it narrowed down to either a CZ 75, a Beretta 92A1 (not big enough really), or a Sig Sauer 226 Tactical since I have big ass hands with long fingers. However I see these very well made GY 16 Regards an I"m thinking if anyone here owns one an whats their take on them.

my comments are in this post http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?865191-Girsan-9mm

but just quickly i have used a rental which has seen alot of rounds almost on a daily basis made my decision to order one solid piece. can give you more info when i get my own.

I've put about 200 rounds (with no FTF or FTE) through mine so far, and I'm very impressed with this pistol. The machining is incredibly well done, and there's no slop anywhere to speak of (haven't handled a Beretta, so can't compare) and the thing is very accurate. I suppose time will tell, but looks to be a good investment so far.

I handled one side by side with a Beretta - frankly I liked the Girsan better. QC appears to be first class, zero tooling marks, flat flats, nice tight rails, better trigger out of the box. Oh yeah, it was waaay cheaper too.

Here's one review of the compact version I found while googling a while back.

I found one, shot it and sold it in a week,Looks and feels like a Beretta but just not the real deal.

Did it shoot like one too?

They're 2/3rds the price of a Beretta new and that seems to be a great selling point at least for me. People talk about the Norinco clones being "rough" but for the price a useable shooter. Girsan on the other hand, and this is from what little I can find in english, get labeled as a cheaper turkish clone with out the quality complaints that follow Norinco.

It shot nice and you cant tell the difference between it and a real 92,i bought a CZ SP01 Shadow the same time i bought the Gisan so i sold it not because there was any thing wrong with it but becauce it was cheap and i didnt loose any cash selling it and i wanted to see how it compared to my buddies 92.Plus i like the CZ more.

As the kids would say...'epic fail video'. The number of unsafe actions is too long to list. I had the urge to duck behind the counter as soon as he opened the video by sweeping the camera operator (a woman by the sound of it) at least 3 times with what turned out to be a live and fully loaded pistol. Then (no loud rap music fortunately) he followed with 'shooting into space', gangster style, left handed with the gun in the right hand, followed by a decimating 30 round assault on the local turtle population. What a wanker. Even so.....I didn't observe a single FTF, FTE or misfire. The gun itself seemed fine.....

Yah there were few videos of the gun 16 Regard being demonstrated, only the models I have not seen for sale here in Canada demo'd have some videos. Info is VERY scarce, seems I either stumbled upon a great secret, or just some crappy gun by some obscure company in some bum-hole 3rd world country.

Yet the quality of construction, they're factories state of the art tools, an their performance seems too good to be true for the price they are asking.
