New SwissArms 553-R in 7.62x39

I just noticed it off in the corner of their booth as I was leaving IWA.

I have been waiting for this for years since they first showed the prototype.

I grabbed a brochure, but no scanner until I get home

Some points;

AK mags
No BHO of any kind that I could see
machined aluminum lower
From looking at the internals, it looks to be more of a shortened SAPR than a converted 550-series
9" and 12" bbls

You would be paying for a high quality firearm that takes cheap and available ammo.

Considering how many ak's are in service in live war zones this little rifle makes a huge amount of sense as mags and ammo are everywhere. Shoot bg takes his mags and ammo and leave the heavy ak behind, carry on. Ideal really.

There are some for the XCR, but thats not really helpful. What you'd need is an AK pistol mag, and I've never seen those anywhere.
