Grizzly at 9 yards

Seriously? Stalking a Grizzly isn't that easy, or safe. They don't always turn and run like that. There's nothing wrong with eating them either and although I have only eaten black bear, it's very tasty. It always shocks me how people on here tend to pick apart their own too....... :(
I agree. After that first shot the griz could have easily charged them instead of running away.

I was wondering how that was going to turn out.
Shoulder shot on a grizzlie within spitt'in distance.
And the hubby not at all on the ready?
I hope I'm not out of line thinking that there was an
angel hovering over them this day?
Cool video.

never said it was easy or that bear wasnt good to eat, just cant imagine a big ole grizz like that tasting too good.

I guess I'm just not that into the trophy aspect of hunting.

That little movie did nothing for me........besides wanting that bear too come out on top. Just not into shooting bears. Wonder if they ate that bear or just hung it's head on the wall.

That was TJ Schwanky and his mate. Sounded so much more exciting in his story in AO magazine rather lame seeing it on video.

Pfffffft, they used a gun at that range then took a shot at a fleeing animal? I would have been more impressed if they used a Swiss Army Knife, or maybe a sharpened toothbrush...

I'm neutral on trophy hunting simply because it's disuniting the community to speak against it.

What I do wonder about is people who basically crawl up the animal's butt, shoot it and then go "Oh my god, it totally could have mauled me. I'm very brave!"

If you're going to kill something just kill it and be done. Hunting isn't life and death for 99.9% of people in north america, so why risk your life? If you're doing it to get a rush, get your wife to choke you while you're getting it on. It's not the killing that bothers me, it's what I perceive as a lack of respect for the animal by making the act of killing it a stunt.

I would have shat bricks

I would have shot him in the face. No I'm not kidding at all! Last bear I had that close to me was on his hind legs and PISSED! Guess what I did? Just guess! I shot him In the face. 5 times. BEFORE the first brass hit the ground. Because I was border line brick ####ting!

Why visit a hunting forum if you have a problem with animals being hunted and killed?

Your "humans don't belong there" arguement is garbage....that's the same thing the veggie's say about north american hunters entering the deer woods....people are part of the ecosystem. Anywhere human disturbance exists requires us to be involved in nature's course....deal with it.

If your interpretation of hunters going to Africa is just for bragging rights than you my friend are living under a rock. I've never been to Africa but I will one day (and I persoanlly know 3 people that have gone there specifically to hunt)....I can speak on behalf of many hunters when I say that we do what we do to fulfill a passion...I could care less about a pat on the back from others...I'm quite sure slvaging grizz meat in the YK is not a legal requirment so who cares if they ate it?

They (and many others every year) hunted grizz (quite successfully) for recreation and to have a great trophy to bring home, good for them...to the haters out there - go read another forum if animals being killed bothers you.

Couldn't agree more. Can't believe how many haters are lurking on this thread just to hate . Appears the mods are struggling with this thread also, moving it from off topic to hunting then back to off topic. I believe it belongs on the hunting thread and it was my mistake to post it inirially in Off Topics.
