I got a mauser today off the EE from a good member and I tor it down and found some markings under the barrel. I know the rune but the other makings EK and a shield with something in it. does anyone know what they mean?
the serials don't match on the barrel and receiver. it was a former Israeli gun so most parts do not match. they ground off the waffen amps on the top of the gun but I am so happy they missed the most important one. the amp that is left on the bottom of the barrel is to hard to read the number so I cant get an idea of date. just the EK.
i'm not sure it would be that early. the barrel is like new inside and out. the rear sight is pitted and for sure does not match the barrel but it is stamped. i'm not sure that would help with the date of the barrel also the front sight is stamped with a different number Amt 77 I think is a Poland stamp?(I have amt 77 on a radom pistol) i'll try and get some pics of the actual amt stamp on the barrel but like I said you cant really see the numbers. you guys might have a better idea though.
first here is the barrel mark like I said you cant really see it. and the rear sight band. the band does look like it matchs the barrel from condition and it looks like it says amt 323.
yes its for sure ss. the first pic I put up showed the rune. some people said they cant see the pic though. you can kind of see it on the barrel pic there on the bottom. yes the first guns the Israelis got were in 8mm and then converted in I think 1951? i found this one on the EE. he has another for sale you can check if he still has it.
