Are there any? I know there is the one cz not a huge fan. I like the more modern looking black. I am not oppose to getting my restricted its just I hate the fact I wouldn't be allowed to just shoot on the farm. I'd have to drive almost 2 hours to the nearest gun club to be able to shoot it. I know the ruger mini 14 is non restricted but I want the tactical version with the collapsible stock I love that military look. I can't seem to find this for sale anywhere. Are these legal?

Please do we have any options? If we do please tell me my options.

Thanks

Edit: yes I know assault was a swear word. Please read thread before posting another useless comment.

Listen I'm a hunter with rifles and shotguns. I know nothing about these guns I've never shopped for them before. I recently shot a friends cz and was intrigued by the assault rifle style. But hated the wood on that one. So I started googling and couldn't find many non restricted models.

Cooey makes a sick tacticool rifle. Some even have magpul tactical adhesive serial number badges (high speed, low drag)

I don't get it? Why is everyone so wowed? Is sporting rifle a better word? Whatever you call it I like the military look. Sorry for the choice of words.

Holy $hit guys enough ok I'm sorry I used the wrong word. Tactical rifle. I didn't realize assault meant something so specific. No not automatic and no 30 round clips. I said I recently shot a non restricted cz so you knew what I meant. My assumption all the military style guns were called assault. I'm sorry. I'm looking for a list of non resticted tactical rifles. Please enough

The only rifles that look like their military big brothers (but they most definitely are not as we can't own automatic weapons and the few left who can are fewer and fewer every passing year and can't shoot them anywhere anyway) are pretty expensive for the quality/accuracy/reliability you get in return.

CZ858, a little high priced but not bad for what you pay for. Very reliable, Cheap ammo.

The AR180B, very expensive/overpriced for what you get. Cheaper by far than XCR or Swiss Arms and I say next runner up. I own one and it shoots as well as any AR I've ever handled/shot.

Swiss arms, very expensive/overpriced for what you get.

XCR family, very expensive/overpriced for what you get.

Valmets, very hard to find, very very expensive (stupid expensive)/overpriced for what you get.

You should be starting to see a pattern here.

Again none of these are full auto "assault rifles". Assault rifles are rifles that are capable of fully automatic fire and we can't own them and if you don't own one already, neither can you. They are all just semi automatic rifles that happen to look scary or are painted black or are semi auto only variants of their full auto military counterparts (again which we can't own in this country).

FYI I give everyone the benefit of the doubt but a newbie coming on here and first post is full of "assault rifles, mini 14, military weapons, how easy is it to get one" etc etc Starts getting some of the more paranoid members flinching for the "troll" button.

If you are telling the truth then I hope what I have posted helps you in some way.

LOL, yeah they are over price but not for what you get for some of the rifles you mentioned.

As a newcomer you probably are unaware that the term "assault weapon" is considered offensive to most law-abiding modern sporting rifle owners. "Assault weapon" as it is used in the media, is a misnomer and a deliberate attempt by the left to negatively color the perceptions of the non-gun owning public. We do not use it, and other similarly loaded (no pun intended) terms like "weapon", "high-cap" mags, etc...

To answer your question, yes there are a number of non-restricted military-style rifles available in Canada. They include the Swiss Arms Classic Green/Black Special, Rob Arms XCR, HK SL8, Armalite AR-180B-2, Tavor, and a number of others. It is also possible to have a restricted by barrel length firearm such as the ACR, FN PS-90, etc..., re-barreled and have it reclassified to non-restricted status. I suggest you search this forum's older threads as the same question comes up very regularly.
