New to AR15's, what 10rd Pistol Mag is recommended for proper fit and function?

I've got the orange follower ones from CanadaAmmo. All cycle reliably, but 1 mag out of a batch of 10 didn't drop free in my AR. Needed a bit of sanding on the rear bit, and now it drops free.

I run XCR pistol mags in my AR's. Thay have worked flawlessly for me. Wolverine Supplies just got several hundred of them delivered today and should be available for sale next week sometime.
Regards
Guy

The ones that Wolverine is selling right now are with angled bottom. Do they look weird when you couple them? (Just like the ones that Canada Ammo sells)

Is this a pinned pistol mag? Why did I receive a pistol mag pinned to 5? If I did, what good is a pistol mag if it's pinned to 5 when it's legal to shoot at 10? Confused here... Bought a rifle with 3 P-Mags, instead I received 2 P-mags and this thing. Can I take the pin out and use it to it's 10rd capacity?

Is it marked anywhere with "pistol" or "LAR-15"?

Looks like a factory 10 rnd rifle mag pinned to 5 rnds. Unless it is specifically designated as a LAR-15 pistol magazine it must be pinned.

Yeah, they are pretty good.
They have a better cut on the front that give the same effect people go for when they file the ASC mags.

They come stock with an A/T follower that is almost identical to the magpul versions, no need to upgrade.

Mine will take a round of a just slightly longer OAL if you are into reloading.

They are made of steel instead of aluminum.

Never had a problem with mine like that. Only thing bad about it, is the 10th round goes in a bit tight. You won't be able to seat it on a closed bolt, but if the bolt is already open, no problem, and my AR can strip that tight round off the top just fine.

They look pretty snazzy with range plates, too.

What?! Now that's not something I was expecting lol. I'm sure Jason will be able to tell you what happened. Have you emailed him before opening this thread?

Yes I did, no answer yet (he's in the US this month). I wasn't aware what kind of mag this was, this was the purpose of this thread. I believe it's a rifle mag, pinned to 5. Not what I ordered and was surprised I got it. I had problems with their website as a coupon wouldn't apply to the total. About 5 emails and 2 phone calls later we had it all straightened out, I thought. I'm sure they'll make good on it.

Like I said, I'm new to the platform and I don't know much about the rifle or the pistol mags. This is why I asked.

Jason has been pretty good at replying to my emails, but he should still reply to your emails even if he's in the US.

I know of one other AR pistol mag that just came in the market in Canada recently that will legaly hold 10 round (20 rounders, permanently blocked @ 10 rounds by the manufacturer), but I ain't telling a soul until I have them in my grubby hands, tested them, liked them and then bought 20 more of them :)

I'm having trouble with frequent jamming in my Benelli MR1 with the orange follower mags from Canada Ammo. The mags are labelled 5.56 and I'm using .223, but I don't think that would make a difference (though I've been proved wrong before). Could anyone shed any light on the situation? I bought their 10 pack, and damned if every single one doesn't jam on me.

From Wolverine:

Exactly the same mag as this one which is pinned, except for the "Pistol Mag" writing:

I'm betting the ones I get from CanadaAmmo will be the exact same mag with different writing on them... strange.

I ordered this from Wolverine today, are they any good?

Exact same ASC magazine. Thought these were from a different manufacturer... They're not. Think I read that these are the ones you have to file down to function properly, but this is why I created this thread, as I don't know.

So ASC is probably the only LAR mag available right now... and the guy up there that says the Wolverine mags are somehow better, is dead wrong. It's an ASC mag which is identical to the one I have and is not made by Rob. Arms. Would that be correct? I'm knocking that pin out of the one as it's a pistol mag. Anyone have the ones from CanadaAmmo? Are they made by C-Products as listed or ASC?

Buy the Questar Mags and a pack of Magpul Anti-tilt Followers and you are Golden. The Orange ones look retarded when used with a coupler, if that's something you are considering.
