3 Questions:

  1. Since I want it to be an NR, does my barrel have to be 18.5"? I know if the barrel comes factory, it can be any length as long as the OAL is 26".
  2. What would I do for a trigger lock, or can I just separate the pieces?
  3. Do I have to get this think verified somewhere?

I am just interested in shooting target loads, so nothing with a good amount of chamber pressure will be used. As for not being safe, just dont load it until you shoot it. Probably much safer than the old powder guns of the old days.

I think it's cool

*waits for the flamers to stroll in*

ya ya I get its dangerous. Just don't load it until you shoot it. Do I really have to answer why? I'm just a huge gunnut

If you forget the foolish tackiekewllery, the gun is essentially the same as the Paltik slamfire shotguns made in the Phillipines generations ago.
Google Phillipine guerrilla gun, Iliff D Richardson, Richardson Industries shotgun, etc.

That's interesting, I guess they had to start somewhere. Never heard of it before.

An even more basic model did away with the lever and simply used a wingnut to keep the barrel away from the firing pin until needed. The whole affair weighed just 5-pounds, had five (5!) parts for the simple model and 17 parts for the deluxe version.
